Teaches more than solos

By epiphoneplayer279

Comments about Hal Leonard Guitar Soloing Book/CD:

This book teaches you beginning techniques like chords and scales, and advanced techniques like sweep picking and arpeggios. It is a great book for any guitarist looking for warmup exercises or new techniques.

Worth the work

Comments about Hal Leonard Guitar Soloing Book/CD:

If you are new to guitar you do not want this book. You must already know the the notes of the fret board, chords etc. This book is for the intermediate player that already knows some scales/modes. The book teaches the CAGED patterns but really works more on the musical context. It moves you from playing in the box to outside the box.

Comments about Hal Leonard Guitar Soloing Book/CD:

The book includes licks to play over chords, but it does not show you how to play the licks, and does not give you finger positioning.
