Oh yeah. This book is very basic, yet very informative. I would recommend this product to anyone, beginner or professional. And considering that Hal Leonard also has a guitar version of this book (which I also own and recommend), the world of scales is open to nearly everyone. If you want to improve your playing for bass licks, solos, or just scale runs, this is a great starting point. And depending on your style, possibly all your ever need.
Not only does this book organize the scales by key, it also includes a short explanation of what scales are and how one can use them in music. Though that comes in handy, it isn't a sufficient lesson in itself, and so I would suggest that if you don't know much about scales, you should find external information to couple with this book.
Very straightforward, easy to comprehend. Though I would much rather the diagrams of each scale to be shown horizontal instead of vertical, but that's just me.
This book is packed full of more scales than you will ever need. It's a wonderful practice tool, and when playing the scales properly, they become great exersises for building strength and getting to know the fret board.

Very simple and straightforward. The scales are organized by key, which makes it easy to find what you're looking for based on a root note or basic progression. There's even a brief explanation on scales in the back of the book.
This is a great book for people who already have a basic understanding of scales. But this book isn't the be all end all of scale education. For the price, it's a great. There's a guitar scales version of this book that is also great.
Anyone wanting to learn scales should definitely use this book. But if you really want to learn what scales are and how to use them, you'll want to find something to accompany this.
