Comments about KJOS All for Strings Violin Book 2:
This book starts out teaching different keys again, and making sure the student understands the fingering in each one. After that the student learns harder keys, and eventually dotted quarters and eighths, sixteenth notes, and triplets. In the back are scales for many common keys, as well as rhythm and bowing variations for those scales. In the back is also a very good starter guide for vibrato with many good finger strengthening exercises which help when vibrato is continued in book 3.
This book has short songs and lots of technique, so I highly recommend getting the companion book, Solos and Etudes 2 by Frost and Anderson which has more interesting pieces. (I am really bummed out that MF does not sell this book!!) Also I love the theory book by Frost which really reinforces what the student learns.
