Comments about Mel Bay Metal Edge: Extreme Metal Arpeggios:

I will definitely purchase the next 2 videos in the series.
Great foundation for learning finger tapping, sweeping, and other techniques. However it's not for the beginner or the player who lacks any theory knowledge. For example, when the instructor is tapping on the E string, he's not explaining to you how he is deadening the other strings, or why he is holding his pick in his other fingers. You need to know that sort of stuff, or be able to figure it out on your own. Similarly, major, minor, and diminished progressions need to be almost second nature to you. It's best if you are a player that can already "See" the neck of the guitar.
The video production is simple but yet well produced. The instructor is well spoken and a fantastic player himself.
A great bang for the buck. You would spend hundreds of $$ in private lessons learning what is taught here.

Comments about Mel Bay Metal Edge: Extreme Metal Arpeggios:

i just got this dvd yesterday and im already a better metal guitarist. i finaly found some good fundimentals for making my own shread patterns along with a few terrorizing licks i got off the vidio. it realy gives you great tequneque. once you think you've figured out how to sweep pick, andy will make you put your fingers in a totaly diferent shape and make you master that too. now i find it so much easier and more enjoyable to shread to rythem tracks with a hand full of wild arpeggios.
