Until I received this trumpet I hadn't played since middle school, almost 15 years previous. It feels great in my hands and and admittedly, it is easier to play than I thought it would be given such a hiatus. This trumpet will likely carry me as far as I'd like to go, and if it doesn't it will get me most of the way there.
Anyone getting back into trumpeting or starting for the first time will find this to be a good choice.

Bought this trumpet for my daughter 3 years ago when she was beginning band in the 4th grade.It was cheaper than renting one and I purchased and extra year warranty just in case.My daughter loves it. She is in advanced band now and taking it into middle school jazz band. I have tried to buy her a more advanced model, she will have no part of it. Her Music teacher said in the start of band,"don't buy a cheap trumpet they usually break before the first concert and don't sound good". He is equally amazed at the quality and sound of this trumpet.

I bought this for my 9-year-old son who just started taking lessons about 4 months ago. Rental rates at the local music store were ridiculous, and I was pretty sure my son would continue for at least another 6 months so this was a better route. I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of both the construction and sound, and my son says it's just as easy and fun to play as the higher priced rental he had been using. The case is sturdy too.

I played trumpet all through middle school, high school, and college. I've let my 11 year old son try my professional/expensive trumpet and it was time to get him his own. I was worried a trumpet offered at this low price would be complete garbage, but I was blown away with this student trumpet.
It's easier for him to play than my pro trumpet, he sounds better on it, and as an experienced player I find it easy and fun to play (I haven't played seriously in many years, so my chops are out of shape).
For a student, beginner, and anyone that needs a bargain trumpet, this Etude ETR-100 B Flat trumpet is perfect. This is a trumpet that will grow with your student for years until they decide if they want to be a "serious" player.
I would be remiss if I didn't mention how happy I was with Musician's Friend! I bought this trumpet for Christmas, and bought it a little late in the shopping season, but even with the free shipping, the package arrived very quickly and well ahead of Christmas.
Bottom line, I still find it difficult to believe I got such a great bargain on such a great student trumpet! Well worth it!

As a musician myself and a father of three students I am satisfied with the quality and price of this trumpet is a better deal that I was expecting. My oldest son son has played trumpet for his school band for 5 years and he likes it so much that told his friends about it. I purchased this trumpet while i was in beginning band and i had no problems with it. Then 2 days of being in beginning band they moved me up to concert band. This trumpet really sang, and had not one problem. So, that school year ended and im still in concert band(two years at the school, 2 bands)playing trumpet. This is where the problems start. I swung the case on accident in the hallway...BAM!!! The handle comes flying off and the case goes straight into the wall. When i picked it up all of the ABS plastic was shattered into a million pieces. Then, i had to buy another case, and the next day, the trumpet's 3rd valve slide doesn't work and one of the keys starts sticking terribly. It wasn't from hitting the wall. Oh well, i had all-region band tryouts the next day. I decided to try anyway. I MADE IT! This trumpet can still sing when it is broken. It even got me in the top honor band, symphonic band, while it was broken. I think if i would've bought an allora it would've had more problems with the valves and slides. I had to play a solo with a straight mute. so, i bought the Vincent Bach 1860 straight mute in black plastic. Oh man, did these two things work well together.
Overall, I only went to the shop once. It's super lightweight, and this thing can sing. If you really end up wanting to get serious, but don't have the money for an expensive trumpet. Try looking in a pawnshop.
