I bought this solotone mute because I've been playing a lot of shows that call for it lately. I have been using my Harmon mute in place of it but I felt I finally needed to get one. Since I rarely use one I chose this mute for the price but I guess you get what you pay for. The mute is terribly sharp but not consistently. I have played professionally for 20 years and I had a hard time lipping some notes. Ab and G were over a quarter tone sharp but F was nearly in tune. Made it quite difficult to tune those quick passages in Chicago,, especially tuning with the trombone who got the same mute and has the same issues. Would not recommend this mute, get out your wallet and find a more expensive one if you are really dedicated, otherwise just use your Harmon.
