Great practice mute.
Willie Berg invented stonelined mutes in 1935. They are the finest brass instrument mutes available in the world. Stonelined mutes play perfectly in tune and are easy blowing. Stonelined Mutes deliver the perfect professional sound all the time. Included in the many features that allow the outstanding colors of sound is the secret formula used to line each and every stonelined mute.

Comments about Humes & Berg 167 Tenor Trombone M Klein Practice Mute:
This mute is a great value.
I live in a small apartment in Manhattan, and the M Klein practice mute is perfect for practicing with a small bore tenor trombone. It is very quiet. I can even practice with my wife in the same room studying. It is sturdily made and as yet has not fallen out while I am playing. I was using the Denis Wick practice mute. It is lighter, but it is bulkier and tends to fall out. Also the cork kept pulling off the mute and getting stuck in my bell. I believe the Denis Wick mute may work better with a large bore tenor trombone. If you need a pratice mute for a small or medium bore tenor trombone, I would recommend the M Klein practice mute over the Denis Wick practice mute. You even have the added bonus that it cost much less.
