As a former Kindermusik teacher I was introduced to these drums. I now teach my own program with 2 - 12 year old children. These drums are very durable withstand alot of abuse. They have been used at outdoor festivals, drum circles, in class, withstood my own 4 children and their friends playing them and are still being used and in great shape after 9 years of use. I highly recommend these drums for anyone considering drums for children. Just don't get them wet! They will delaminate.

Purchased for Christmas for my five year old after watching him unintentionally destroy a "kids" drum set he received a year ago. Sound is great on this drum, it is of high quality, and adults are constantly drawn to it, as well! Mallets are even durable and high quality.

I use this drum in my KINDERMUSIK early childhood music & movement classes, and parents and children alike cannot get enough of it. It's perfect for a group of little hands to play together w/ teacher and parents. It provides a variety of sounds, from resounding booms to clear ostinatos (when tapped at the edges), and lots in between. Also, the ledges and built-in "stand" serve as fun percussion as well. Kids l-o-v-e it! (and so do I.)
