OVERVIEW

The Control Acoustics 5-Piece Acrylic Drum Shield gives you incredible options in manipulating your drum sets volume. The 5 5-1/2 x 2 panels fit together with flexible hinges and require no additional assembly. There are mouseholes at the bottom of each panel to easily run cables and wires through. The Acrylic Drum Shield can be used in a variety of ways depending on your needs. Place it in front of your kit to reduce your bands sound or minimize the amount of drum volume in the mix. It also works wonderfully to isolate the drums music during a recording session allowing for a clearer result. There is also the option to place the shield behind your set to reflect more sound out to the audience during a live performance.

Isolates the sound of your drum kit.

A very good drum shield for the price. The mouse holes work great for mic and monitor cables. We setup and take down the shield every week for House of Worship use. After 6 months of setup and tear down 4 times / month, one of the 4 rubber sleeves started to tear at both the top and bottom.

My desire was to merely purchase a replacement sleeve, but because it was under warranty, Musicians Friend swapped our shield for a new one.

To start ,the drum shield started to come apart on set up.Also, if you think you can set this up by yourself .Think again! It was obviously made for an "in place " setting i.e a pit or a church, not a working band. I sent it back . No problems from MF.They are great. Drum shield .Not to much.

Comments about Control Acoustics 5-piece Acrylic Drum Shield:

This is the 3rd drum shield that I have bought in about 4 or 5 years. Our band plays around 90 shows per year. The hinges break, scratches show, and it is difficult to clean. However, venues that can leave the shield up without worry of being road worthy, is a very good buy. This shield makes a huge difference in cleaning up drums from the other 4 vocal mics on stage.

Comments about Control Acoustics 5-piece Acrylic Drum Shield:

I have an isolation booth for drums in the studio that is 12 X 14. I can use the acrylic set up for better control. A lot of drumers want to be out where the action is to take visual signals so then the shield comes out to the main room and by adding a few rear wall baffles it is almost as good as the booth. For a live sound it works very well for recording in the main room.

Comments about Control Acoustics 5-piece Acrylic Drum Shield:

These drum shields really help keep the volume under control and free up the drummer to play as they want. They are well built and should last a long time. If you want to really control the sound you may want to go to a full enclosure, but in most settings this will do.

Comments about Control Acoustics 5-piece Acrylic Drum Shield:

This shield does make a difference in the sound for our new church drum set. One of the five panels and one of the connectors arrived damaged. After talking to a Musician's Friend representative, it looks like replacements for the damaged parts are on the way. The shield looks nice and functions well. The best part is getting to keep our drummer in a bubble.
