Comments about ddrum Red Shot 5-Piece Drum Trigger Pack:
Good value horrid when they start to fail. Cheap enough to buy several sets.
No glue, tape etc. and can be switched from set to set if needed. Easy to put on take off etc. This is my 2nd purchase of a set of 5.
Great triggers. They last about 4 to 7 years. Wish they would refurb but cheap enough not to matter too much.
Not too expensive.
Comments about ddrum Red Shot 5-Piece Drum Trigger Pack:
great triggers. anyone that says otherwise dont know how to set them up. YOU HAVE TO ADJUST THE SENSITIVITY ON THE DRUM MODULE PEOPLE!!!!!!!! These triggers are REALLY sensitive so if you just plug them in out of the box, most of the time they're gonna double trigger or worse. They'll overdrive whatever the module is ran to also. So you HAVE to adjust the sensitivity on the module. Now I gave an 8 for quality simply because the wires are ran mostly on the outside. But I realize that if the wires were completely on the inside, the rim would pinch the wires, so as long as youre careful, you wont have any problems, and if you do, its not like they're hard to fix. They're NOT junk by a long shot. If you need great trigger that will work for you for years, get em.
Comments about ddrum Red Shot 5-Piece Drum Trigger Pack:
These triggers are convenient because no adhesive is necessary and I have no problem worrying about double triggering. Unfortunately they're also crappy because they aren't made very well. The wires are exposed on top and the plug-ins are not very good quality. One of my triggers that were part of the 5 trigger package had a defective plug in, it works, but the 1/4" chord cannot go in all the way. I had to bend the metal plate on the kick trigger so that the trigger would lay on the bass drum head. However, it does say that the metal plate may have to be bent in the overhyped directions that were included. The directions, by the way, were not written very well either. The heavier, better built, original ddrum triggers are worth the price but these are more than they should be, a disappointment. I won't buy these again.
Comments about ddrum Red Shot 5-Piece Drum Trigger Pack:
This has got to be the biggest waist of time ever. I had to hold the damn plug in the jack by hand while testing these triggers out. That's how bad these were. The triggers gave me so much double triggering, that it sounded like one big roll! Please dont get this product if you are a seriouse musician, a good suggestion would be the original ddrum triggers.
Comments about ddrum Red Shot 5-Piece Drum Trigger Pack:
They were ok... but they made my drums sound boomy, and they made them echo there ok if you just want to make your set louder, but if your gonna record dont get them
Comments about ddrum Red Shot 5-Piece Drum Trigger Pack:
These triggers would either pickup too many hits or not enough. It was not good for fills or even simple rolls.
Comments about ddrum Red Shot 5-Piece Drum Trigger Pack:
For the average drummer looking for a cheap alternative for triggering, these guys are one of the best values on the market. At half the price of the others in the market, the Red Shot's offer spectacular single triggering. As some others have said, these are VERY hot triggers so you will need to dial down your module's sensitivity, but once you dial them in they are fool-proof.As an experienced Edrummer, there's not much better for converting an acoustic kit to electronics. I have used these triggers with Roland's TD-10, Yamaha's DTXpress and Alesis' D4 modules all with great results. While they do lack the 'rim sensor' feature, for the single triggers that they are, there's not much else out there that can match them. They mount in seconds and can be used with mesh heads like the Pearl Mesh Heads for completely silent drumming. If you are really ambitious and want to do some home recording you can even pick up a few extras and place them on your cymbals using the wingnut assembly on most cymbal stands - be very careful of the cancellation features of your module doing this though. You need to really desensitize them for this to work well.Overall, these are a quick install (requires removing one lug and replacing) and when used with good cables will give you excellent results. They also seem to work with just about every manufacturer's modules on the market today!
