Handcrafted by the experts at Drum Workshop.
No detail has been overlooked. No corners cut. Its look and sound are custom-inspired. Its value difficult to match. To its makers, the Performance Series exemplifies what it means to be handcrafted by DW. In addition to advanced HVX shell technology devised and constructed by John Good and the DW Custom Shop team in in the USA at their Oxnard, California shop, this Performance Series 5-piece kit is fitted with quarter turret lugs, low mass die-cast claw hooks, and finished in a gorgeous pewter sparkle framed by chrome hardware.
The HVX shells used on the Performance Series combine advanced grain orientation technology and hand-selected North American hard rock maple to deliver a low, punchy fundamental, with ample resonance and projection that's perfectly suited for live applications.
Cymbals and hardware not included. Note that DW products are not available for further discounting online. For additional information, please call 866-226-2918.

Comments about DW Performance Series 5-Piece Shell Pack:
I purchased this kit in Pewter Sparkle from the sister web company last December, and have had a fair amount of time to get comfortable with it. I also added a 16X14 floor tom, which I ordered separately, and was shipped the wrong color by another dealer. At the time no dealer had the large, Pewter Sparkle floor tom in stock, and after a call and email to DW customer service, they sent a brand new drum out in three days, along with a call tag and shipping label for return of the miscoded/labeled tom I had purchased! I have not seen anything like that level of support from Gretsch, which I played for almost 10 years before, and especially Pearl, whose products I played for nearly 15 years, and had returned different drums under warranty to Nashville for finish peeling four different times. There is a reason so many top level pro and touring drummers play DW, whom I fondly remember from the days of CAMCO in the 1960's and 1970's when I played Slingerland and Rogers. I see absolutely no tuning stability/drift difference between these mini lugs and the larger Collectors Series hardware. The roundness of tone, projection, and punchy-ness at different tunings and tensions speaks well to the shell design and materials, and creates a very versatile kit for many different styles of music. I was tempted to wait the two months for one of the new Gretsch USA-made Brooklyn kits, but after auditioning and looking over these DW's, I couldn't see there would be any advantage, especially since all of my hardware, pedals, and throne are already DW and PDP 900 Series, which are what you want to support those smaller toms and ride/crash cymbals over your bass drum. On stage and under lights, the silver sparkle over black background which forms the Pewter Sparkle finish wrap is as striking and elegant to look at as it is to play and listen to. I seriously doubt I will look at or play another brand in the future; no more imported/unknown origin in my drum shells. While certainly more of an investment than some of the top import kits, this Performance Series is worth every penny and deserves your consideration, regardless of what you think you want to spend on a drum kit and/or your level of proficiency.
