Comments about Gibraltar Bass Drum Anchor:
I purchased this at the suggestion of a pro drummer who said it was what I needed to stabilize and immobilize my Farmer Double-Stomp bass drum. Unfortunately, the lower rim of the DS drum sits about an inch and a half off the ground, and this unit did not adjust for that. Once I clipped it to the drum rim, neither the spikes nor the rubber feet would reach to the ground. For my specfic purpose, in other words, it was completely useless--although very well made and quite useful for standard bass drums.

Comments about Gibraltar Bass Drum Anchor:
I read some reviews that were not kind and hesitated at 1st. when I bought it I discovered that in the bad review the guy had it on upside down. after you get it on properly and centered it digs in and will hold a bass with no legs. and I'm a very heavy footed guy. this rocks

Comments about Gibraltar Bass Drum Anchor:
I have a 20" kick drum and had to install this on the inside of the hoop. For someone who cant think for themselves, it should come with instructions.
Comments about Gibraltar Bass Drum Anchor:
Cheap threads. Cheap wingnuts.
Gibraltar Drum Anchor. SC-4402 I've been playing vintage drums for over 36 years (pre 1970's). I like that sound. I've been using these anchors since I think the early 90's. They work great. However they are made EXTREMELY cheap! The original ones were much better. Better metal. Much better wing nuts and threads. Then Gibraltar started cheaping out. I don't understand it. Everything else I've seen from Gibraltar is high quality. I buy these things 3 or 4 at a time because I never know when a thread is going to strip! Last night I had one just plain not holding itself together. And it was a pretty new one! Very frustrating. I don't play very hard. Not even close to Metal (not to put Metal down. Some of those guys are great). Blues, classic rock, acoustic duo, Jamband, singer/songwriter, Irish, etc. I wish Gibraltar would stop making these anchors so cheaply. PLEASE!!
Comments about Gibraltar Bass Drum Anchor:
I bought this anchor today, and it's pretty much the only anchor on the market. I had to stop my bass drum from moving on my carpet. It works ver well. I've played drums for an hour and it still hadn't moved. The only thing that I do not like about this is that if you use the rubber instead of the spikes, you have 2 spears on your bass drum, the carpet can get wrecked and the wing nuts destroy your bass drum hoops. When I set it up, I was also confused with how to put it on.Overall, I say if you have a nasty carpet already, go ahead and buy this.
Comments about Gibraltar Bass Drum Anchor:
This baby does the job. Be careful about how much weight you put on the spikes if you are on a rug or carpet, and monitor the drums position, because this can really tear up the floor. The rubber is probably a better idea for the carpet, it should have enough grip there. I got a nice area rug, and my drum doesn't slide anymore. Hence I no longer need this little device, but I keep it with my kit anyway. Maybe the stage won't be level or something.
Comments about Gibraltar Bass Drum Anchor:
This product was less than exspected from Gibraltar. First it will destroy your wooden bass drum hoop. Second if you use it with the rubber feet down the spike feet are pointing up like spears just waiting for a victom. Poor quality overall. It would probably keep you bass from moving but not worth the pain.
