A fully collapsible, great-sounding Cajon for easy transport to gigs and more.
The Commuter Cajon by Gon Bops is a collapsible instrument that fits smartly into a backpack for transport to rehearsals and sessions. Ideal for urban musicians who commute by bike, public transportation or small vehicle, the Commuter also fits easily into overhead luggage compartments for frequent flyers. Diagonally placed internal guitar strings provide authentic Flamenco tones, while deep resonant chamber offers loud, tight bass.
The cajon folds flat and fits nicely into the included backpack gig bag.

Comments about Gon Bops Commuter Cajon:
I am a percussion junkie. I love to play hand drums whether they are bongos, djembes or cajons. I already have a LP Soul Cajon I purchased 4 or 5 years ago and, at that time, I thought it was the best sounding and best made available. Since then, I have tried a Meinl Artisan Seguiriya cajon that is absolutely beautiful in both sound, appearance and construction and will probably be my next cajon. That being said, I absolutely love the Gon Bops Commuter cajon. It is also beautifully made, fits together really well, sets up and breaks down, easily, in minutes and, most importantly, sounds great. Like the LP Soul cajon, it has two guitar strings that are adjustable by loosening or tightening a hex screw at the bottom of the cajon. Tightening the screw pulls the strings away from the front face and reduces the snare effect. Loosening the screw allows the strings to hit the front face more strongly and increases the snare sound. The cajon comes in a beautiful and very well made protective case that can be carried by a top handle or worn on the back like a backback. If the case had to be purchased separately it would easily cost 50-60 if not more. This is a Really Nice sounding instrument and is fun to play. There is no trade off in terms of sound because of its convenience. I initially tried the Commuter Cajon at a Sam Ash store in NYC. It would have cost me 325 including the NYC sales tax. Getting the cajon from Musicians Friend, when they had one of their frequent promotions saved me 75 than if I bought the cajon in NYC. Every item that I have purchased from Musicians Friend has been cheaper in cost than from any other web site or local brick and mortar store. I have been super happy with everything I have purchased from Musicians Friend.
