Comments about LP1307 Blast Block:

I bought this at a local music store on clearance along with some other small percussion things. I was not expecting much from a plastic 'toy' looking object that was meant to be hit with a drum stick, but I have been truly amazed at both the sound and the ruggedness of this block. I have been using it now for two months, I am not a gentle drummer, and it looks good as new. Sounds great! One note, it should be struck at about a 45 degree angle on the upper (curved) edge with the shoulder of the stick for the best tone. Also (novel for me) a lighter touch actually produces a cleaner and more musical note.If you are into Latin sounds or are looking for a novel tone for your kit, try this blast block.ADT

Blast Block a Blast

Comments about LP1307 Blast Block:

Been using this & the higher pitched yellow block for many years. The green block makes a great substitute for a side-stick rimshot where you need more volume & projection in a loud band. I knock the snot out of these babies & they just don't quit. Mount it on a L-rod clamped to an old Tama multi clamp fastened to your hihat & it locates perfectly just left of the snare.

Small Sweet Spot

Comments about LP1307 Blast Block:

A small sweet spot but great tone and crispness. A great block when you are hand-drumming; hit it with a cupped hand while wearing a ring and you can get a nice mellow knock.

    Comments about LP1307 Blast Block:

Do to it's unique shape, many ways to mount > round side up, or flat side up, (I prefer the flat side down for a more 'hollow log' sound. But sounds really great with a sturdy mounting tab.

    Comments about LP1307 Blast Block:

It's a versatile block with a great tone, whether you hit it easy or really lay into it. It achieves a nice "DOCK" sound using the taper and shaft of the drumstick when hit at a slight angle to the mouth. Wish the playing area was a bit wider (more oval shaped and not so circular). Tonally, it pairs nicely with the LP Timbale Cowbell. Both are mounted on Pearl PPS37 clamp. Great choice for those who have limited space in your kit to dedicate to percussion effects, and you desire a lower pitched block sound that is similar to a rimshot sound.

    Comments about LP1307 Blast Block:

Thought it would be a good idea to use this with a foot pedal, but even though I used a felt beater, it cracked in no time. Loved the tone.
