The Falcon Series is all about simplicity of adjustment and position.
Falcon is a complete line of pro-level hardware from Mapex with the features and conveniences needed by pros in the studio, on tour, or in the woodshed. The Falcon design was influenced and road tested by a team of artists who want an incredibly smooth feel and simple adjustability. The settings are dialed-in at the factory, so it feels good right out of the bag with only minor adjustments needed to fit individual tastes. That means more time playing and less time adjusting.
The Falcon Double Bass Drum Pedal is designed to give drummers optimal adjustment and designed to be the smoothest-playing pedals ever made. Falcon accessories enable players to purchase only one pedal that can be modified into a direct or strap drive with the simple replacement of the drive component. Double-pedal users can experiment with the drives to find the right left foot vs right foot balance of feel and speed.
This pedal features a self-adjusting hoop clamp that reduces stress on hoops that, compounded with a reduced-size base plate, stabilizes the pedal. Interchangeable drives enable a customized feel to match any style, while interchangeable beater weights offer additional control over the lag and balance of the pedal. Additionally, the pedal offers independent control of beater positions at rest and the length of the row.

Comments about Mapex Falcon Double Bass Drum Pedal:
Wasnt expecting THIS much difference compared to my old mid-range pedals. After playing adequate mid-range pedals for 3 decades I finally decided to treat myself and just upgrade to a truly high-end pedal. I was reluctant as my philosophy had always been that a good drummer can make any pedal sound like an expensive one, and I have heard great drummers play a plastic bucket and rock it better than any marginal drummer on a dream kit. So I never considered putting more than a couple hundred into a pedal. But wow, this is such a step up from my long-serving Pearls. Sure the old pedals always did the job, but when I noticed quite a bit of wear everywhere and started to feel the springs soften up even though they were cranked as taught as I could get them, I decided to look into some dream pedals. (If you have ever read any of my reviews on here I am a research junkie and dont buy anything without lots of reading, comparing and studying.) Well, I watched video comparisons of all levels to see what other drummer look for and some of their common complaints and suggestions. After a month or so I narrowed it down to pedals by Axis, Tama, DW and this Mapex Falcon. In then end I went with the brand that had always delivered for me well above my expectations and went with the Mapex. They blew me away when I bought my Saturn kit, when I upgraded my hi-hat to the Falcon, and at nearly every turn in between. It didnt hurt that this is a pedal with all the features and functions of any 4-Figure pedal out there, and it sells for less than half that. So I popped and ordered. The pedal came in an incredibly nice case (which I wasnt actually excited about as I wanted my money to go toward the PEDAL, not the accessories I may or may not ever carry it in.) But once I got it assembled (super easy and straight forward) and got it mounted up, the first stroke was surprising. The power was so off the chart I had to start playing with a lighter feel as it felt like I could have punched right through the drum head! The feel was so natural, balanced, and smooth. The adjustability is amazing with any and every possible option anyone could want in a pedal. From the slim line base, to the self adjusting hoop mount, to the removeable velcro inserts on the bottom of the plate, to the variable weight beaters, dust guards on the hinges, I could go on for a page. I am so pleased and so excited about this upgrade. Wouldnt trade it for any other pedal out there regardless of price. This is truly a 4-figure pedal for less than four bills. Highest rating. Mapex just keeps coming through on the details.
Comments about Mapex Falcon Double Bass Drum Pedal:
So I started out by buying the single pedal for my gigging kit. I liked it so much I decided I needed the double for my studio kit.
I'm not really sure what Mapex changed from the old version of this pedal to the new version, but it must have been the right choice because the pedal feels great!
I use the chain version of this pedal (also available with strap or direct drive). The pedal, the case, the beater (with interchangeable weights) all feel and look great!
Some of the nice features on this pedal are.
Interchangeable weights, I use the 10g weight, but it also comes with a 20g or you can use the beater without a weight at all. The 10g seems to fit my playing style the best.
Bass Drum Clamp- The pedal is very easy to get clamped on to the bass drum. it clips on well and stays clipped on.
Spurs- The spurs are nice and beefy they keep the pedal right where you want it.
