Plenty of cut and projection with sticks and strong chick tone.

Meinl's Classics Custom series are made in Germany using B10 bronze alloy for an explosive modern sound with lots of attack and a moderate decay. These 14" or 15" Medium Hi-Hats blend strong pedal attack with a wide tonal range open to closed.

They're perfect for adding to your existing set-up since they blend so well with almost any other cymbal.

Comments about Meinl Classics Custom Medium Hi-Hats - Brilliant:

After playing them for a little while and getting used to them I have come to love these hihats. Very solid feeling they far surpass my old Sabian B8 hihats. They have a nice clean sound and a solid chick. They are a litle on the heavy side however and drummers seeking a thinner more dynamicly responsive hihat for music such as jazz might not like these. They can work but are more for rock and metal which I play, however are a very nice and relatively inexpensive upgrade to cheap cymbals. I also own the Meinl classics custom 18 inch medium crash and love it. Highly reccoemnd these cymbals.

Comments about Meinl Classics Custom Medium Hi-Hats - Brilliant:

Very nice chick, can be heard clean, a little heavier than expected and as far as clean sticking say for a jazz situation your not going to get that, these I feel are made foe old school rock, I.E. Zeppelin, Deep Purple and such.
I play light jazz light rock and I was hoping for a cleaner sound but these tend to be swoochie, I really have lean on my hi hat stand to get that clean sound, hi hat stand is a DW 5000, so I made all the adjustments possible. But, for the money not to bad, just play rock with them

        Perfect All Around

Comments about Meinl Classics Custom Medium Hi-Hats - Brilliant:

if you got 200 bucks..do it up. i would say theyre best for some pop punk/hardcore stuff, like a day to remember, set your goals, attack attack. anything heavy. and since i dont play much country, jazz, or blues stuff i really couldnt tell you if theyre good for that. but they sound good closed and even better open so that would make them pretty much good for everything. if you spend the 200 to get these now, you wont have to worry about buyin new hats for awhile.
I rarely close my hats. and these sound perfect to me when i have them opened up just a bit. Nice higher pitched sizzle. if youre a person who opens and closes your hats alot maybe for some funk beats, i think you would like these too. good chick sound when closed. actually sounds like youre hitting a cymbal, not plastic.
its safe to say i dont baby my cymbals. i got these about a month ago and i play almost every day, at least 5 times a week for a couple hours, and they look as good as the day i got em. no marks, no dents or nicks, and beautifully shiny. they were surprisingly heavy when i picked them up, thick strong cymbals.
After looking around online and watching some youtube videos, i didnt think i would find a pair of hats i like for under 250, but i found a video of alex lopez talking about these cymbals and figured id give em a shot. anything was better than the 2 year old HCS hats i was using. if you gave me 400 bucks and said buy whatever hi hats you want, i would choose these. they sound perfect to me and i can tell they are gonna stay that way for a loooooong time.
