Comments about Meinl HCS Trash Crash Cymbal:

My first Meinl! I only added the 16" HCS Trash Crash to my kit a few sessions ago, but I'm very pleased so far. I play a big kit, and it adds a unique voice among a dozen crashes, splashes, and other effects cymbals. Very similar in sound to my 18" Sabian Xs20 China, but it's slightly trashier, slightly darker. I'm always looking for different "voices," and I really like this one!

But I'm a heavy hitter, so that's my only worry so far. For crashes and effects I play ZBT and ZHT, and Sabian Xs20. I invested money in hats and ride (Zil A Custom) and go budget with the stuff that gets the most abuse. The price for this Meinl was great, and I really like the cymbal. But all those HOLES in the cymbal make it appear fragile. I focus on holding back when I hit it because I'm not sure how strong it is. ZBs and ZHs usually crack within a year or so. I've never owned one of these "cut-away" cymbals, so endurance is my only concern. I'm hopeful I get lots of use out of this Meinl!

Comments about Meinl HCS Trash Crash Cymbal:

Got this cymbal as a christmas gift and was an addition to my drum set. Extremely good sound from a lower priced cymbal and fits in well with the other Meinl cymbals I have. Definitely would recommend buying this cymbal.

Comments about Meinl HCS Trash Crash Cymbal:

This is my second Meinl HCS series purchase, and 3rd overall. Budget series, but great quality for the price. German made, and have that 'German Tone' that I associate with Paiste & Meinl. The Trash Crash is like a cross between a China & a thin crash. Sharp & rings out quick. I use it with a snare hit. Dig this thing.

The Meinl trash crash is a must have. It goes well with my other Meinl cymbals and offers a distinct sound. It has a quick response and really cuts through during a drum solo. Buy it, you will be glad. Only buy from Musicians Friend because of their superior customer service.
