        Comments about Meinl Slap-Top Cajon:

Love this little drum. Wanted a cajon for a long time - desired a more lady-like way to play it - great design. Amazing how many sounds from such a small surface. Bought one for myself and 3 more for family & friends. Fits in regular cajon bag.

        Comments about Meinl Slap-Top Cajon:

I waited several months to get this item on backorder and wow, am I happy with it! I own several kits, hand drums, percussion items, electronic percussion, and so on and this little cajon is a must-have. I currently use it in an acoustic rock setting with a blues/rock group and could easily see using it in the studio as backing percussion for any of my other projects. It's perfect for accompanying acoustic guitar at an open mic or even at a drum circle. The bass tone is tight and focused and the snare is consistent and clean. The cajon seems built to be mic'd and the recordings I've done with it sound fantastic. I added 4 castanets and I often wear foot tambourines, ankle rattles, and finger shot shakers with a foot cabasa on my left for a fuller sound. With some creative percussion added to the cajon, you can do some really great layering, or keep it simple with the bass note, snare and basic tom runs on the tom section. My only gripe is that it doesn't seem to have a bag available! For about a Benjamin, you can't go wrong. Right now, this thing is getting more use than my MUCH more expensive Wavedrum!

              Comments about Meinl Slap-Top Cajon:

I'm having fun with this slap-top cajon :)
Sure worth the price! Seems sturdy
              and gives distinct bass/tom/snare sounds.
I can't compare it to regular cajons,
as it's my first cajon, but friends seem to like the sound. Nice to have the playing surface at lap level. Very easy to play. Added the med.castanet and jingle castanet and happy with those too.
              Thanks & smiles...Randy G.
