Beautiful Tones

Comments about Overseas Connection Ghana Single Bell with Stick:

I've been playing with this bell for about 2 weeks now. It does not sound like a cowbell. The tones are far more resonant and the bell has at least to sweet spots. There are 2 areas for scraping the beater. The softwood beater that is provided gets some great sounds, as do latin percussion sticks. Typical drumsticks don't sound as good, but the best sounds come from a hard mallet, at least 2.5 notes (I used the Travis Barker hybrid stick mallets). This might be tough to work into some bands, but since I'm doing experimental heavy music, I'm not too concerned. Attaching it to my cymbal stands is going to be a problem though.
