Paiste

Responsive and lively.

A bit heavier than the crash, very balanced, full and rich sounding. Nice ride sound in larger venues. Very versatile and works well with louder playing.

Made with CuSn8 bronze for a bright, warm, and energetic tone. Great for live and studio gigs requiring high energy and the utmost in precision and musicality. Heavier models have been added to round out the original classic series by providing increased volume.

Swallow the room with quick, explosive sound. Order now.

I have these on my Ludwig set and I'm not in love with them. They do sound very vintage, but I don't care for the sound or feel of them. So I guess they're okay if you are truley set on having your drum set sound like it's from the '60s, including the bad qualities. It's kind of a weird feeling when hitting them, not much rebound, kind of dead. Also, the coating comes off very quickly. So overall, they are what they say they are, but just be sure that's what you're really after.

I recently got back into playing drums after a ten year layoff.  I bought a PDP Platinum kit, and I needed a nice set of cymbals.  I went with the Paiste 2002 series.. a 16", 18", 20" crash, with a 24" ride and SoundEdge 14" hats.  These cymbals have a bright warm tone and sounds amazing.  They are also the most beautiful cymbals on the market.  They have a unique color and just shimmer.  They aren't cheap but cymbals last quite awhile if you take care of them, so in the long run they are worth it.

These cymbals are amazing! I own an 18" and a 20" and they're just incredible. I used to own a set of zildjian ZHT's, and as soon as I put the 2002's on I could immediately hear a difference on the overall full sound. Also, I've heard about 2002's supposedly breaking/cracking quickly, but for the life of me, I don't see how it would happen unless your extremely angry and go crazy on your cymbals to relieve some stress.

Been playing A Zildjians for a while, always wanted a 2002 but was always a few dollars shy when buying pro-level cymbals, ya know. Anyway, I finally took the plunge, and...WOW. So bright, cutting, clear, and full. Not as warm and washy as my A's, but it CUTS. I'm switching to Paiste!!!

Great Cymbal

I've had this cymbal (16") for a year now and absolutely love it. A fairly heavy hitter, I've yet to crack a cymbal, but this thing takes everything I give it and asks for more. It cuts through the mix like a hot knife through soft butter, which is good because it's not the loudest cymbal, though it's certainly not quiet by any means. It's a bright, shimmery cymbal that's perfect to ride on and use for accents. It is very versatile, very sensitive, and has a great feel to it. It actually compliments the Zildjian A Custom Medium series very well, so even if you don't have another Paiste on your kit, chances are this will fit in nice and snug-like regardless! One of my favorite cymbals.
