These hats can get LOUD really quick. I can't say enough about them. I've been playing 15" Sabian Sizzle hats the past 20 years, I thought I would play Sabian the rest of my life. Then I found my ears really liking the sound I was hearing from some of the concerts I had been to. What did they all have in common? Paiste! I replaced my whole setup with 2002s, with the exception of my sweet sounding 18" Giant Beat. Back to these hats, they will literally force you out of any bad habits because even through the wash you still hear defined stick work. I've had them for 2 weeks now and I've cleaned up my technique. I know everyone has loyalties to certain equipment but after hearing and playing these I couldn't resist making the change!

These are without a doubt, the best high-hat cymbals I've "heard." BUT I have been through two sets since buying my first set not quite a year ago. I don't know if it's the empty space created by the waves in the edge or what, but I've had to go back to my color-sounds because they keep cracking top & bottom cymbal. I guess if you have an endorsement, they're great, because they do sound sweet. I just can't afford to replace any more.

Comments about Paiste 2002 Sound Edge Hi-Hats:
I recently got a new pair of these 15" hats. I have always played 14" New Beats, only, up until now. When I first set these up, I had a peculiar unease about the sound, but they quickly grew on me, and within seconds, I was really digging the new sound. They have a very cripy sound, overall, and lots of cut. The chick sound is quite sharp and not so airy or whispy. The open sound is quite sizzly. They are quite quick for 15" hats. Depending on the type of music you play, I might not recommend these as the most versatile, all-round pair for everything, but if you are going for an agressive sound with lots of attack, you might love these above all others. Highly recommended !

I Have the 15" Paiste 2002 SE Hi Hats and they are hands down the best hi hats I have ever used (it even beats the Signatures) I Suggest you get these they are INCREDIBLE!
Comments about Paiste 2002 Sound Edge Hi-Hats:
Just received my 15" 2002 Sound edge hi-hats today. Couldn't get them out of the box fast enough. First off the finish on the 2002 series cymbals is gleaming. I bought these to replace my old 2002 Heavy Rock Hi-hats that I had tons of miles on. (still in good shape). All I can say is awesome and exactly what I wanted and expected from Paiste
Comments about Paiste 2002 Sound Edge Hi-Hats:
I have the 15's and I'm in ABSOLUTE love with them. I say you get the 15's the 14's when I played them were a little toooo high pitched. But if you like sloooooshy sounding cymbals get the 15's!!!
Comments about Paiste 2002 Sound Edge Hi-Hats:
Great sound! Just great quality hats. The wavy bottom really brings out the sizzle in these big boys. Started with Paiste and never looked back since. Don't know how you can break multiple pairs of hats, could be bad luck, or maybe Technique?;)My Paistes have never let me down. Fixin to get me a pair of 15" Soundedge here @ Musicians Friend, really dig the service!
Comments about Paiste 2002 Sound Edge Hi-Hats:
These are probably the best hi-hats I've ever heard. I have owned several pairs. Unfortunately I have come to the point where I am going away from the Soundedge. I will stick with the 2002 series since there are none better, but will be switching to the heavy hats. As I said, I have cracked up several sets of these....both top and bottom hats, so it's just not reasonable to stay with them for me. Guessing they sell just the top hat alone for a reason.?.? Anyways, a great cymbal I would suggest to anyone

Comments about Paiste 2002 Sound Edge Hi-Hats:
These hats are LOUD! Great for Rock or even heavy rock/metal. (In fact I think the drummer from G.W.A.R uses 2002's) They really are top notch quality when it comes to cymbals. These have a nice sharp crisp when closed, but have a loud, washy yet controlled sound when half opened. Right now I have these hats and a 2002 16" Crash. I plan on filling out the rest of my set with 2002's because they really are the best!
Comments about Paiste 2002 Sound Edge Hi-Hats:
These hi-hats have a very clean sound. When they're open they have a fury bound for Metal and when they're closed every bit of your technique shines through with astounding clarity.
Comments about Paiste 2002 Sound Edge Hi-Hats:
I bought a pair of these hats about a year ago. They have exceeded my expectations! Heavy hitters beware- I cracked my top cymbal only a couple of months after I bought them. I got my replacement from Paiste and haven't had any problems with it. Perhaps the original was a fluke? If anything, I've hit the replacement even harder. I've used these hats on stage and in the studio and I think they're great. They've got the wide open slosh, tight closed hat sound, and that amazing Sound Edge foot-chick.
