I purchased this cymbal about 6 months ago in a bit of a pinch. You know...100 bucks to spend. When it arrived I was ASTOUNDED just by how attractive looking this cymbal is. I mean, come on, look at that logo! And the picture is a bit misleading (as it is with the PST5's), the cymbal is not nearly that GREEN looking, it's a more of a muted, metallic yellow; very shiny, with GORGEOUS lathing and a brilliant bell. And the underside is very nice looking as well. As for the sound...phenomenal. Warm, with just a bit of wash, but the initial sticking is very clear and ear-pleasing. I have used this ride in a variety of applications, from Jazz to Punk, and I have to say that it is extremely versatile. The bell...I don't have many words to describe the bell... CLARITY is one of them. It's absolutely perfect, with an unbelievably musical, with almost...icy tones in it. IT JUST SPEAKS TO YOU. As for crashing on this cymbal, I wouldn't recommend it because I don't know how well it would stand up to it (it is a brass cymbal), but if you do crash on it, it gives you a thunderclap...then dies down fairly quickly, leaving a teeny, trashy ring unless you choke it. It has served duty as a secondary crash for me on severaly occasions and it does just fine. And even though it's a 20'' cymbal, it's still quieter than my 18'' crash by a long shot. Which leads me to my only problem with this lovely cymbal... My only problem with this cymbal is that it isn't...loud enough. I definitely have to play with the butt of my stick in heavier settings; I don't like doing this because it gives the ride a lower, less musical pitch. If you are planning on playing any shows with this ride...you're gonna have to ask the sound guy very nicely to mic it up. Then everyone around you can hear how truly nice it sounds.

I've had this cymbal for about a month. I also own a 20 inch 201 paiste ride. The 201 is by far the better ride. I feel like the pst 3's (this goes for the entire line) just stop ringing the instant after you hit them. I play rock and metal and like to crash on my rides, and this one is horrible to crash/ride it because the sound instantly stops the second you hit it, and the sound you do get is just dirty and dull. Dull is the best word to describe the entire line of pst 3's and that is because they are so cheap. I WOULD STRONGLY suggest you save the extra 100 dollars (or 40 if just the ride) and you can get a pst 5 pair of hats, crash, and ride which sound AMAZING compared to the pst 3's. The sound is uncompareable! DONT BUY THIS CYMBAL EVEN IF YOU ARE A BEGGINER

Comments about Paiste PST 3 Ride:
This cymbal is for everybody! Has everything, but the volume. The bell is mighty and clear, the spread has a nice stick sound (tick!), and the wash is controlled. I never heard a budget cymbal like this before it could rival any pro series. Mine has some patina so the cymbal sounds even darker and has that earthy look to it (or tarnish! still looks cool!). The volume is not really there; you can't crash it and expect a bronzish crash sound. Brass tends to hold back due to the nature of its alloy similar to the zildjian scimitars. This cymbal can really shine in jazz, latin, funk, and some rock applications. Any higher I would go with bronze. This is still a great cymbal and I really think it can suit any level drummer. Paiste covers the bases when creating cymbals!
Comments about Paiste PST 3 Ride:
I think it's a great cymbal.
Considering the price, this is a GREAT cymbal. I found it one day while I was messing around at a local music store. I played on that cymbal, and I fell i love. I could not believe that was the price. It's hard for me to find a ride cymbal I like, I'm very picky. But this one stood out. There are better cymbals, but if you're on a budget, go for the Paiste PST3.
Pretty Good Quality
Value Is Pretty Good
Comments about Paiste PST 3 Ride:
How can you improve perfection? Paiste has that figured out! Why waste your money on expensive Zildjians that break and do not sound NEAR as good. The PST 3 may be what most call entry level cymbals but,Nothing seems further from the truth in my opinion. I bought my PST 3 Ride in Novemeber and it still continues to impress me with the clarity, tone, and when you hit the bell how bright and LOUD it is!. I think Paiste cymbals are ALL i use or reccomend period!. Dont let the price or the entry level label fool you! You cant get great sounding cymbals like this from Zildjian without spending hundreds of dollars, Spend your money wisely and by Paiste`s!.

Comments about Paiste PST 3 Ride:
its a good ride for the most part. for the money, it's definately worth it. the bell sounds good, although it's not too loud. when you hit it hard like a crash, it cuts through the music real well with a very low crash tone to it
Comments about Paiste PST 3 Ride:
The pst3 ride is perfect for any player, the ride sounds better in softer tones than louder but either way works. Playing on the inner portion/edge of the cymbal gives it a great sound throughout the whole cymbal and the bell is pitched outstandingly. Overall, this cymbal is a great product
Comments about Paiste PST 3 Ride:
I've never heard a beginner cymbal so dark and warm, let alone a brass one. Paiste truly innovates once again with the beautiful PST 3 Ride. After breaking this cymbal in, its become very silky, dark, and washy; it sounds better than a lot of 500 dollar rides I've heard. Its a truly beautiful cymbal; I've had it for about half a year, and having broken it in with almost constant playing, the bell is now warm, musical, and cutting, and it rings like a chime or like a RBDR; the bow goes from bright and pingy to full and dark with a greatly pronounced ping, and the crashing, though it lacks a certain attack, is full and overpowering, and sort of goes up; its a great jazz ride. I love this ride so much, no matter how "beginner" it is. GET THIS CYMBAL.
Comments about Paiste PST 3 Ride:
I just got this cymbal and so far its pretty good. It rings forever when I don't have headphones on but it sounds amazing with them on. The bell is probably one of the best Ive worked with. It's a GREATTTT cymbal for the cost and it makes my kit look super snazzy. I recommend it, especially for beginners.
