I love the Paiste sound, and thanks to the PST-5 series and Musician's Friend, I can afford it!A beautiful, affordable cymbal made from the classic Paiste 2002 bronze alloy, and it sounds great. Has a nice metallic ping on its bell, a trashy, dark, shimmering sound on the body, and an earth-shattering, almost gong-like crash when struck on its edge. Mine is mounted upside-down for this purpose. I use nothing but Paiste PST's on my kit, because their process ant technology make them far superior to Sabian and Zildjian's low-end (budget) offerings. This is the best "Cheap" china I ever heard, and will serve me nicely until I can hopefully someday afford my own set of Paiste Signature Reflectors.I would recomend these to anybody!

    recomended

Comments about Paiste PST 5 China:

first off, I ordered this cymbal and it came in within great time. the sound on this isn't that bad actually. I was expecting a brighter more splash tone to it but it turns out it's great for breakdowns.Great for the price and it seems pretty durable so it should last the buyer. if your looking for a metal/hardcore sound, then this is the one you want.

    Nice China!

Comments about Paiste PST 5 China:

I bought the 18' china last year and it is also my first one. At first the china had a really pangy sound and then 4 months passed and the china was getting thrashier. The china is still in good condition after playing metal and hard rock. One thing about this china is that it is LOUD, it is the most loud cymbal on my drum set right now. I haven't tried it live but I'm sure it will sound great. If you want a good and inexpensive china then get this one :D

i got this pst5 china cymbal just to have a spare and its not as great as everyone is making it out to be. this china is not loud enough you can barely hear it if your in a band and its not nearly trashy enough... i love paiste cymbals an all but go to a different brand for chinas. ill just stick with my meinl classics 18" china.

Comments about Paiste PST 5 China:

This china is absolutely great. i would buy the 18 inch if i were you, the 16 is too high and "pangy" which if that's what you're looking for, go for it. for my first china, i went looking for a basic china, none of this "wild" china or "fast" china, and this is what i decided on. if i were you, i would try to find one in a store, so you can check the quality in person, (you never know what might happen when you're package is being shipped), so if you're in a similar situation, (shopping for your first china) jump on this, it's a great deal for the sound, all in all, you can't beat it.

    Pretty good no joke.

Comments about Paiste PST 5 China:

This china is really not that bad. Its trashy but not too trasy. It is also very LOUD. For the price and quality you just can't beat it. Its good, but if you got a a bit more money ill go for the Zildijan Oriental "trash" china for a more trash yet balance china. Just my opinon. This china is good i own it and it'll do the job for now. Oh yeah and if you play breakdowns this china will work! thats what i use it for :)

    Pretty nice china

Comments about Paiste PST 5 China:

I just received this china cymbal today. I ordered it after returning a Wuhan 18" china that I felt sounded horrible. I suggest this one over the Wuhan if you are looking for a cleaner sounding china that doesn't hurt your ears.

I got this china at my local music store, and let me tell you this thing is unbeatable. I mean the price is good, sound is amazing, and the overall quality of this product is second to none. I would say if you are looking for a china that has a very clean and loud sound(plus isn't going to put you broke), then this is the cymbal for you!

    Bad at first

    By GretschDrummer-D8ih8

Comments about Paiste PST 5 China:

At first this China sounds a lot like a gong, and isn't very Trashy. But after a weak or so of playing, it finally get's broken in. And it sounds MUCH better. Get's a nice trashy sound, Also it is VERY loud. I would still recommend a Wuhan China, But still this China is nice.
