Comments about Paiste PST 5 Medium Ride:

Great sounding 20" ride. Very nice ping. The PST5 medium ride is made from the B8 2oo2 bronze alloy, which is the same great alloy used in the 2oo2 lines. Although it seems just a little heavy so the crash abilities are comformized. I wish Paiste would come out with a lighter version of this cymbal, kind of like a "sweet ride" type version that would work better as a crash/ride. I own the 18" pst5 crash/ride and I love it. Would like to see that in a 20" ride.
Other wish the whole Pst5 line offers the best deal for the money. You'll be happy with this B8 alloy.
These are called pst "5" because it took the place of the Paiste 505's...which were a great cymbal from the 80's.
You can't go wrong with the B8 (2oo2) alloy.
      Rock on!!

      great buy

      By Our Own Enemy

Comments about Paiste PST 5 Medium Ride:

probably the best ride ive ever used. i like it better than zildjian rides deffinately amazing sound good for anyone who plays or is going to play. (awsome for jazz indie and punk) also good for metal.
fantastic ride ping from the bell is loud and so bright great sound plus ringing from the outher layers is amazing sound...you still get a good constant ping as well as cymbal crash sound.
amazingly hammered and crafted deffinate perfect tone for someone who plays punk rock (blink-182 greenday sum 41 etc) and even metal.
amazingly priced for this cymabl and sound...id expect this quality cymbal to be way more expensive but its not...great deal here

      Good Ride for Price

      By Anonymous

Comments about Paiste PST 5 Medium Ride:

To start out. this ride is pretty good for the price. it does overtone a little but i play in a bedroom that is fairly small so i imagine while guitars are playing that it is very good. I haven't tried it out in my band practices yet. I'm looking forward to it though. The crash is alright nothing too good. But overall, great cymbal for the price

      Overtones....

      By drummerboy-ccA6G

      from Virginia

Comments about Paiste PST 5 Medium Ride:

The overtones on this ride are ridiculous. While playing it, the overtones get so loud that they cancel out the rest of my kit. Also, everyone here says it's good to crash, maybe I got a really bad one, but mine has a horrible sound if you crash it. It's decent for the price, but I wouldn't really recommend it.

      GOOD RIDE AND CRASH!!

      By Mikedrums661

      from Palmdale CA

Comments about Paiste PST 5 Medium Ride:

OK!!!. So I have 2 20in pst 5 medium rides.....I use em as crashes. And YES, they are found to be better then Ziljian A customs. I have had these babies for over 2 yrs now. And I know A customs can't last that long if you are a hard hitter. They will tend to crack and leave nasty gashes in your crash. I definitly would recommened these for hard hitters. These cymbals are like crack free..lol..And these cymbals are affordable.GET THEM!!!!!!!!

      Very Sweet Ride!

      By Hatebreeder5855

      from Bishop, Ca

Comments about Paiste PST 5 Medium Ride:

This ride is beautiful! i bought it and, damn!, this thing sounds good! amazing crash abilities and the bell is very crisp. the overtones on it are a little bit more than on a pricier ride but everything else on it sounds top notch! i suggest on saving yourself from paying a whole lot more for an expensive ride and pay the low prices on this ride that is as good, if not better than the more pricier ones!!

      Unbeatable price

Comments about Paiste PST 5 Medium Ride:

I bought this about a week ago and I have to say it really sounds good. It's fairly light sounding and is a much better sound than the 101 or 201. I was comparing rides on paiste's site and this was one of three that I liked anyway and sounded as good as rides that were hundred's more. We recorded 2 songs using this ride and it sounds Great!

Comments about Paiste PST 5 Medium Ride:

I just got my Paiste PST 5 20" Medium Ride & I have to say this is the sweetest sounding ride I ever heard with a great crash ability to boot! It's very jazzy with a rock feel to it as well. If you ain't got much cash & need a new ride, get this one. I promise you that you'll not regret it.

Nat bad but I would invest in something better

      By spriggan72

      from Hillsdale, MI

Comments about Paiste PST 5 Medium Ride:

This ride does sound very bright but the stick definition lacks a bit and the overtones are VERY annoying. The bell has a sweet spot to where if hit properly, you can get excellent sound from it, but your strikes need to be very focused. The extremely slow decay and overtones leave a lot to be desired. Not a terrible ride tho, great for a beginner, but if you are intermediate or above, i would invest in something better
