Paiste's best-selling entry into the world of bronze cymbals.
Paiste Sound Technology stands for first-class manufactured cymbals and high-quality sound design at an affordable price. Considering recent musical trends, the PST 5 was newly designed by Paiste's Swiss Sound Development Team. Visually the PST 5 were consciously altered only in detail but their fundamental sonic value changed considerably.
The cymbals are lighter resulting in a deeper, warmer sound while preserving its bright basic character. They have increased flexibility resulting in a more appealing feel. Overall the PST 5 is significantly more musical.
This multi-functional Ride-Crash offers a strong attack when used as a crash and a sparking ping when used as a ride.

Comments about Paiste PST 5 Ride/Crash:
I added this to a pretty full set of PST 5's... I have a 16" thin crash, a 14" PSTX Swiss crash, and the 21" Groove ride, (plus 18" China, 10" splash, 14" PSTX stack). I felt like a needed the 18" crash ride to fill the void on my right between the big ride and my crash, and this does the trick. It's not my favorite of the group, it's not that it's bad, it just doesn't stand out for me. I love the 16" thin crash, and the groove ride, but I can't say I 'love' this. It's the classic story with all ,dual purpose' things- it's not great at either. So yeah, it crashes, and it can ride too, but it's just okay at both. For the price, it fills an empty slot in my kit and performs adequately, and you can't expect much more than that. The other cymbals in this series FAR exceed expectations at their price point, so I was spoiled. Not bad by any means, but not super-awesome either. I'd try an 18" thin crash next time around.
