I bought this cymbal because all I had was a pair of zbt high hats, a B8 18" thin crash and a B8 ride. I got the 16" crash and im pretty happy with it it adds more variety when i play now. the only thing i dont like is that to me, it sounds to weak or soft. Im a drummer who doesnt know much about drums (just know how to play) but all in all im happy with the product

Great Cymbal, Even for a Lower Budget

Features:

I've been an extremely hard hitting drummer for the past 6 or 7 years. I play with my cymbals relatively low, they aren't swinging above my head and yet and I've broken Zildjians, Sabians, and Wuhans. After joining a band, I decided I would need to replace my damaged cymbals. I didn't want to go cheap, but I didn't have the money for high-end cymbals. I don't like Zildjians or Sabians because I've had bad luck with them, so after hearing about Paiste cymbals, I researched them endlessly. I settled on buying the PST Rock Crash 16" to use as a crash cymbal next to my main crash cymbal that I use to ride on during rock choruses. (I used an 18" Wuhan Crash, and it was way too thin, the poor thing never had a chance. I don't think it was worth more than $50.) Back to the point, I bought the Paiste PST 5 back about 4 or 5 months ago, I've hammered it almost every day since, and there are no signs of wear or tear. I love this cymbal to death, it's loud enough to cut through at band practice, it's got a beautiful shiny finish, much better looking in person than in the picture, and it has a beautiful tone that makes you want to stop playing and listen to it fade away. It's not top of the line, I understand that there are cymbals that are better than this one, but for the price, I don't think it can be beat. After playing this Paiste, i never want to use any other brand again. It holds up great, and it has a beautiful, glassy, icy tone. I was surprised of this myself because the cymbal is only 16", but even the bell had a beautiful tone, not too washy, just enough of a ping for accents, I love it. This is a great cymbal, the price is almost unbeatable, it's such a deal. I'll never get rid of it. I'm now looking to get a Paiste RUDE Ride/Crash to replace my Wuhan because I'm so confident in Paiste.

If you're looking for a great rock cymbal that you can hammer home and still get a great tone out of every time for a great price compared to other quality cymbals, this is the way to go.

A Beautiful Sounding Crash Cymbal

This Paiste PST5 Rock Crash is an amazing cymbal, especially for the money your paying for it.  It is the best sounding crash cymbal I have ever heard, (I have the 18in).  This cymbal has a great tone for any type of music but sounds great for that old Bonham style drumming (seeing as Bonham used Paiste's).  The bell on it is clear and very bright and if you play this cymbal like a ride cymbal it sounds better than most ride cymbals out there on the market, and its a crash cymbal!  Paiste did right by this cymbal and all their products are up to par with this one, as I use all Paiste cymbals.  Great product, great value, what more could you ask for? Keep on Paiste and thank you for a great product.

Not a noob, been playing for 25 years and for a cheap cymbal these are great, I like the 19" way better than the Apha 18" medium I have and it cost like $50 less. They sound better than most others in their price range, but woudn't recommend getting anything smaller than an 18" It's got a nice musical tone and a sweet bell that is large and almost ride-like. It didn't get a 5 because very few cymbals get a 5 in my book, but this one is a great buy.
