I own a Zildjian ZXT 10" splash and I'm not impressed with it's sound at all. I read some reviews on this Paiste and figured I'd try it out (10"). In my opinion it sounds WAY better than the ZXT and was a good bit cheaper as well. If you don't want to spend a lot on a splash then I'd recommend this one for sure.

I have played every splash in guitar center and some of the local shops here in Utah. I bought the 10" based on other reviews thinking it would be worth the money. I highly recommend you buy the 8". The 8" has a lot better sound, it seems the bigger the less actual "splash" you get with these. It's not that crisp and it just sounds cheap. I know the smaller one would be better because it is brighter! I guess if you want a 10" look like 20-50 bucks more, it'll be worth it!

Comments about Paiste PST 5 Splash:

I have owned many pst5 cymbals for probably a year and a half, and overall I am very satisfied. Im a bassist first, before I'm a drummer, so I dont play my set all that hard, or often. I may jam on it a couple times a week. After inspecting all my cymbals, I noticed that the splash had the beginnings of almost a dozen small cracks around the hole where u put the cymbal on the stand. I also found a crack in the bell that ran about 1.5" long. All I've ever used in my time being a drummer have been paiste cymbals, and I was somewhat disappointed in this cymbal. I expected more durability, even of paistes more value priced selection of cymbals, I guess you always get what you pay for.

      Longer Sustain

Comments about Paiste PST 5 Splash:

No doubt about it, this is an excellent value for the quality of sound. I own 8, 12, 14 inch and the PST5 is a wonderful line. That being said, I think the 8" needs to be a tad thinner. The attack is relatively dull and the decay is too quick. Keep in mind however, this my opinion. I DO love the rest!!

Comments about Paiste PST 5 Splash:

I bought the 10 inch...I gotta tell you...These things are AWESOME!!! They are bright sounding, they have that classic splash sound (unlike some of the better brands such as Zildjian), and out of all the good brands, these are the cheapest by far...And from what I've heard they are the one of the best! Buy it!!!! (10 inch)

Comments about Paiste PST 5 Splash:

not the greatest splash. i was expecting something washy-like, but it's more like a tinkle with a ring in the end. i got the 8", small and great for the price. how can you go wrong with the price and a good splash, you probably won't regret it.

      Really awesome Splash!

Comments about Paiste PST 5 Splash:

I've used about 4 other Splash Cymbals, and they didn't sound as good as this one! But of course those weren't Paiste's. They were Zildjian and Sabian both of those brands are pretty good but Paiste is the best! It's great for a quick accent in a solo or a breakdown. I really reccomend this to beginners. It's a great price and very worth every cent!

Comments about Paiste PST 5 Splash:

I bought this just as an add-on to my cymbal arsenal, but man I was blown away. I have Sabian AAX series crashes, and this blends perfect with them. I'm tempted to buy some PST5 crashes as well. Great cymbal

      Awesome Affordable Cymbal

      By Blake Roche

      from Whitmire, SC

Comments about Paiste PST 5 Splash:

I'd been wanting to buy some more cymbals to my kit for awhile, and I found the perfect set with the PST 5s. This cymbal is exactly what I wanted from a splash, a super-bright accent to what I'm playing. The decay is a tiny bit long and a little weird-sounding, but it sounds great with headphones. Great cymbal, great price. I'll probably buy more Paiste in the future.

      Not for hard hitters

      By Pearl_Drummer_666

Comments about Paiste PST 5 Splash:

I got this cymbal at christmas time so about 6 months ago. Its a great splash, for begginners and pros. I dont think its great for hard hitters though. I tend to hit fairly hard so i need a thicker cymbal. This cymbal is fairly thin and mine is really bent and out of its natural shape. This is the 10 inch. I would still buy it because its a great splash for the money.
