Comments about Paiste Twenty Masters Collection Dark Ride:
This and the Sweet Ride are amazing jazz rides. They have quick responsive and controlled crashability, incredibly elegant stick definition mixed with a warm and dark, airy wash. The Dark is more complex in its wash, combining blends of dark wash and almost china-like blends of color. I don't know how these guys at Paiste invent such uniquely beautiful cymbals. I have played all the jazz brands from K Cons' to Isty AGOP's, Mehmet, Bos, and although these are all great cymbals, I still think that as a standalone instrument, the Paiste has the most beautiful tone, complex wash, versatile sounds based on any area you strike, and just really nothing it doesn't do extraordinarily well at any sound or playing level. It just sings. Pricey, as are all great jazz cymbals, but can do so much with this one cymbal. I would hang the 22 Dark as my primary and the 20 Sweet Ride as my secondary left ride. Both would go with me in the coffin too.
