Great gig-worthy drum

| Review By: Peter-ZZPTU | 4 months, 3 days ago

Features:

Got my Little Squealer today. Tuned up the stock Taiwan heads with batter at 87 and reso at 78 on the  Drumdial. Sounds great even with the stock heads. I'll keep them until  the batter wears out. I would feel comfortable bringing it to any  performance. I have quite a few other top of the line snare drums that often sit on the shelf but I will use this for my band practice kit.

Quality:

Tuning rods have both metal and nylon washers. Throwoff is  beefier than  what you would expect to find on a Taiwan drum and gives me  no cause  for concern or gig worthiness.

Value:

It's the best $$ I ever spent!

Overall:

Great build quality, looks great, sounds great.

Squealer

| Review By: Richard Edwards | 4 months, 1 week ago

Features:

Black powder coating is awesome. Throw off is effortless. I found this drum to be very easy to tune and it sounded pretty good straight out of the box. Sounded even better once I replaced the heads and tuned it up.

Quality:

This thing is rock solid. It weighs a ton, which I like, and the features are all top notch. I only gave this 4 stars because I did have an issue with one of the lugs. I could not get it to tune. I had to crank it much tighter than the rest to get it in tune. I was worried I was going to damage the shell. Of course, MF took care me like they always do. I called and told them the problem and they told me to send it back in. I sent it back and they sent me a new one 2 days later. Even paid for the shipping both ways. New one worked like a dream. Couldn't be happier

Value:

Got this thing on the Stupid Deal of the Day, and it was an absolute steal. I would have paid full price for this drum and been completely satisfied.

Overall:

Overall, this drum is fantastic. Easy to tune ( I don't know why but the nylon washers seem to make it so easy!) It sounds great tuned up real tight or a little looser for that fat, wet sound that I love. You will probably want to replace the heads, I got an Evans ST Dry and it takes out a lot of the nasty overtones. Overall, this thing is as good as you will find without paying $500-$1000 for a DW, Black Beauty or some other boutique snare. This is a high quality snare with features rivaling the high end snare for an entry level price. GET IT.

Love the black Powdercoated finish, and the heft of this drum. The strainer and throw off are smooth, and the nylon washers making tuning a pleasure

Quality:

well made

Value:

It was the best buy i have made for my drums

Overall:

What a great Snare. I bought it thinking I would have a great backup, but it is my primary snare. iT TUNED PERFECT out of the box, but i did replace the  top head with a Aquarian texture coated head, great sound, great value, and a home run all the way.

Careful... It's a squealer!

Features:

I'm happy to say i own this snare and use it as my primary snare at my church or whatever church we fellowship at! I've gotten nothing but compliments.

Quality:

The quality of the snare is very well for it to be for the price.  I must say I'm well pleased.  It's my favorite and  the first snare that I bought myself other then my pearl m1330 piccolo

Value:

For the price your getting a lot more then your paying for usually you expect things to be not so great when your payin so little for them and the ones your paying so much for to be perfect.  This is isn't the case with this pork pie little squealer snare drum!

Overall:

Overall, I gave it a bomb shell rating of 10 because you expect the heads to suck because they're stock heads and you can always replace them if you like.  But I've been using this snare as it came, all I did was tune it to my liking and that was it.  I've been playin it ever since.
