I'm really impressed with the Remo Coated Powerstroke 3. When my band came over to practice they almost fell over, they thought I was running through the PA. I use a Powerstroke 3 as my batter and a Remo Ebony as my resso. Combined with a kick-port my bass thumps, my kick by the way is 18x22, pearl world series. I tune it to LPN and it sounds very good. I dont have to use anything inside the bass drum to muffle it. Again really impressed with this head, I would reccomend to any drummer playing , rock, reegee, blues, heck anything really.

.............. I got this because my drum head that I had ( evans genera g2 clear bass drum head) finally broke after 3 years of use. I have only had this head for 5 months and it has broken. I am a metal drummer and to be honest I expected more out of remo. I am sorry to say that this product is terrible I do not suggest buying it at all. If anything go buy a drum head by evans they really do last longer.

Comments about Remo Coated Powerstroke 3 Bass Drum Head:
I have a two bass drum kit. My main kit is a Pearl, but I put the Powerstroke on my second bass drum, which is by Pulse. Wow! This thing made this cheap bass drum sound like a pro. I highly recommend this drum head. It is well worth the money.
Comments about Remo Coated Powerstroke 3 Bass Drum Head:
I really feel that this IS THE ONLY bass drum head. I play heavy metal, and I got this head before my band recorded our first demo cd, and when I brought it into the studio the engineers were in awe at my sound. My bass is a 24x18 Tama Imperialstar from 1971. They said that it needed no havy micing or anything. One external mike and away I went. This thing can turn even the cheapest of drums into a studio grade, top notch kick. No other drum head even comes close to this head.

This is an AWESOME head. I have a 22" and with it jusdt a little loose, it's got the best sound you'll ever hear. I highly suggest it.
Comments about Remo Coated Powerstroke 3 Bass Drum Head:
I play 2 different big kick drums, a 26x14 and a 24x20, and this head works perfectly on both of them. On the 26, I've got it tuned moderately tight and on the 24 I've got it tuned about medium tension. Fat, boomy tone from both of them, with plenty of attack. If you don't like the sterile, overdampened clear heads, but need more control than an unmuffled coated head, this is the bass drum head for you.
Comments about Remo Coated Powerstroke 3 Bass Drum Head:
Switched over to the powerstroke 3 after using the 22" attack eq no-overtone that came with the kit. Here are the pro's and cons that i can conjure after tuning that puppy up.*Pros*- Feels very nice, the bounce and response is neither to forced, nor is it butter-like.- The amount of attack and resonance are even after very very slight muffling- It has taken longer to loose its tuning than the previous head.*cons*- Harder than normal to hear a certain note during tuning (Not a problem for how i tune)The pros outweigh the cons by far. This batter head is pretty nice.
Comments about Remo Coated Powerstroke 3 Bass Drum Head:
I really dig this head a lot. Lots of low end, but it's nicely controlled with no need for futher muffling. First off, I like the bass drum to ring and resonate a little bit, not be completely dead like it has three pillows in it! I use this head on bass drums from 22" to 18". Minor Complaint: The width of the muffling ring is the same on all three head sizes (2"). For an 18" bass drum, it's WAY too much muffling, it sounded very dead. I cut half the width of the muffling ring off all the way around, and now it is just perfect! For the 20" I had to cut about 25% off all the way around. The 22" was okay as is. I wish Remo would make proportionatley smaller muffling rings with smaller head sizes, so that the ratio of muffling ring to head remains constant. You can always measure and cut it down like I did, but it's still something we shouldn't have to do.
Comments about Remo Coated Powerstroke 3 Bass Drum Head:
Once upon a time I was playing an EMAD batter head on my bass drum and i thought it was the best head in the world. But, after i bought a new set this head came on it and i was blown away. Paired up with an evans retro screen head and its amazing! it can be tuned low and has a nice punch. BUY THIS HEAD TODAY!!!!!!
Comments about Remo Coated Powerstroke 3 Bass Drum Head:
This bass head is a great price for such an awsome sound! I used to use evans but this blows it out of the water. Wth this skin alittle loose it will sound like a cannon no exaggeration!! Overall unmatched buy any at the same price.
