Good, but a little overpriced

Comments about Roland PDX-6 V-Pad:

The Roland PDX-6 (simply called "V-Pad" here, which is a little misleading) is a good starter pad for someone getting into mesh head drums. The triggering works great when plugged into my TD-8 module, and the rim functions perfectly. Getting the rim sensitivity was a little tricky at first, but that's a whole other unrelated story. Speaking of the rim, you might find yourself smacking the rim or doing rimshots a great deal at first, because the mesh head itself is only 6.5" in diameter and the 8" rim feels a little high for that. If the head was, say, 14", or even 10" the rim height would be good, but 6.5" is a little off-scale fur such a high rim. That being said, it takes a little getting used to, but otherwise the pad is very solid. It's quite overpriced, however; for the same price you could find much better Roland mesh head models at other stores. Without the price tag, though, the PDX-6 is a solid mesh head trigger.

I thought this was the larger pad. Why in the world do they bother making this little thing?

        Comments about Roland PDX-6 V-Pad:

We bought this to add to our church's Roland TD-30K set for some additional accent sounds. Mounting it was a breeze, hooking it up was simple, and both triggers work flawlessly.
