Comments about Sabian HHX Groove Ride:

Such a great ride. Looks stunning, and sounds like it too. Has nice overtones, unlike zildjian rides that have obnoxious overtones. So versatile for any style. If you're willing to pay the dough, then give it a go!

Comments about Sabian HHX Groove Ride:

I've been playing for many years and don't want to carry a bunch of cymbals around anymore and have found the HHX line to be very versatile with a wide range of musical styles. If I could only have one cymbal, it's this one - hands down. The range wide range of sounds you can get from this cymbal is truly amazing. Ride it, crash it, play the bell, it's all good. You're getting what you pay for with this cymbal and it's one that just may last you the rest of your life.

Great Versatile Ride

Comments about Sabian HHX Groove Ride:

I have owned this ride for about two years now and it never stops amazing me. This is the perfect ride for someone who wants to rock it out like a crash but also play delicate and jazzy. it also records great. the overtones are not tinny or annoying and high pitched, they are low and washy. I can definitely see why Zoro picked this ride. My advice is BUY IT! It is soooooo worth it.

Nice balance

Comments about Sabian HHX Groove Ride:

I love this cymbal, but I unfortunately decided to part ways with it. The reason was because It sounds too much like my 18" Evolution crash (Which is also amazing!). I love that it has a greating washing crashability, but since my evolution sounds so much alike, it negates the purpose a little bit. Also, I was longing for a little bit more ping out of it for harder rock songs. Maybe it could be better with a little tape, but regardless I was looking for something else since it didn't fit in my setup perfectly.

Aside from what I already said, this is truly an awesome cymbal. Good enough for Zoro, Nickleback's drummer, The Fray's drummer, and more. It has a nice balance between wash, ping, and has a great bell. Definitely check this one out!
This cymbal is very versitile. It has a great bell, awesome crashability, and decent ping with some wash under it. Could be used in just about any genre. Wouldn't fit well in metal though.
They quality of this ride is very high. Very rich and crisp tone.
A bit overpriced, but so worth it.

Comments about Sabian HHX Groove Ride:

OMG,I love this thing I just got it yesterday and it is awsome.Ok,the bow of the cymbal, this is very much like a Dark ride for k zildjian I love it and is good for everything and it can be soft and loud if you want it.The bell:This also sounds like a dark ride by k but has a nice pingy sound that everyone loves for funk latin jazz and rock, blues ,country,.I love this for brushes!.This thing crashes very much like a nice 19 inch dark crash and gives it a deep sound because it is 21 inches!!!!!!I love it.Get this!!If you need a cymbal along with the groove hats you have a perfect gig set.Sounds like an evolution but better bell and crash. You will be happy,I like natural better than brilliant just a reminder it is darker.

Great Ride

By Eyamsiyu

from North Carolina

Comments about Sabian HHX Groove Ride:

This ride is great. It has a nice sound to it and has a decent bell as well. I myself did EQ it a little with a rubber grommet in the bell, but overall this is a great ride.Overall, I could say this makes a great over-sized crash/ride. DEFINITELY worth the cash.

Comments about Sabian HHX Groove Ride:

I've had the HHX groove ride for over a week now. I love the sound of it. It blends really well with my other cymbals. I havent had the opportunity to hear what its like with other instruments playing along with it, but playing solo with it is really great cause it also dark crash. I'm defiantly going to try and make this crash last. I know its expensive, but its well worth the money! I recommend this cymbal to any serious drummer.

Comments about Sabian HHX Groove Ride:

I traded in my 22" Zildjian K Light ride because of the lack of responsiveness, lack of crashability, lack of sensitivity, and lack of versatility. The 22" K Light ride was a great cymbal, but this 21" groove ride is to me the absolute perfect ride. I have been looking for this ride my whole life, honestly. I agree that if you had to have just one cymbal, this is the one. It's dark, but not trashy. It's delicate, but not fragile. It responds to being lightly caressed or or decisively hammered. The crash sound is comparable to a stand-alone crash. I stopped using a crash cymbal altogether now. I just use my 20" HHX Legacy Ride, my 21" Groove ride, and my K 14" Hi Hats. It's really and truly a work of art.
