      Designed with the Rush drummer!

The 19" has a small bell, a high bow, and an extremely wide-lipped edge that is HHX-hammered, for a more traditional Oriental look and sound. The heavier 20" has a drier, more direct response.

I really don't know, I would think he does! Anyways, onto the review! I own both the 19" & 20", there is definitely a huge difference between them. The 20" has a more direct, crash sound that rings immediately. Although when hit, it's sound lingers on but should be drowned out if you keep on playing. It isn't the most traditional china, but that was saved for the 19". The 19" has a low-high ring when hit, perfect for in-between or at the end of solos. It is the more traditional china so if you have mallets this cymbal rocks! It has the perfect ring linger so whack away! It sounds a lot better than Wuhan's, and I hope it last's longer to! I have had the 20" for awhile now and it hasn't broken or shown any signs of wear, it's built like a beast! The 19" is a different story, it's a lot thinner and heavier on the rims, it shouldn't break unless you play it wrong. Yes they are a little bit pricey, but the value for me has terrific! Plus who can beat cymbals designed by Neil Peart? Who? WHO!?!?! Nobody!

      19

Comments about Sabian Neil Peart Paragon China:

This is an absolute killer china, and it sounds WAY better than the 20". The 19" is a lot more mellow and has a much less harsh stick attack than the 20". The 19" is warmer and trashier and explodes instantly, even with the lightest touch. It is also very versatile. I use it with a rock band, and I also use another one (with 6 rivets) for jazz and big band. It sounds great in both settings! The only concern I have is for rock, I have recorded some of our live shows, and although the china sounds great on stage, it didn't project as well as I had thought, when listening back to the recordings (which were done by mics at a distance). Something to consider. Otherwise....great China!

Well with any great cymbal you have to try out and consider others too. I had 4 modles in mind when craving a much drier main china. Anyway the cymbal in my expectation delievered and so far is still today. great cymbal

Paragon China - nothing beats it!

      By DerTrommler12873

Comments about Sabian Neil Peart Paragon China:

I recently purchased the 19" Paragon China. This is truly an amazing cymbal. It is very trashy when hit hard, but is still musical. It sounds almost gong-like when hit softly. If you are looking for a trashy (but musical) China, this one is just what you are looking for.

      This China Cymbal Is Gangsta!

      By Sammy Clark

      from Okmulgee, Oklahoma

Comments about Sabian Neil Peart Paragon China:

I play drums for a hip hop group, so when I started looking for a china cymbal that could produce a sound that I could use in hip hop that could also be used in any other style as well. I have found that China its this one I owned the 20" but it cracked about 6 months into my bands shows so I purchased the 19" and it sounds 100% better than the 20". In my opinion it's the best China out there! Sho nuf this china cymbal is gangsta!!

      These are LOUD!!!

      By ts_trivium

Comments about Sabian Neil Peart Paragon China:

I have played both of the Paragon Chinas and all I can tell you is that these things will make your ears ring for days. Unlike most series of cymbals in which the sound pretty much stays the same as the sizes change, the 19 inch sounds nothing like the 20 inch. They can cut through even the hardest and loudest kinds of music but can also be used in the cotton-soft styles like Jazz and Swing. Regardless of what genre you play, the Paragon China cymbals are just as essential to your kit as your hi-hat.

This the best china out there. I have had for about 9 months. I am a zildjian person but when I was trying these out the zildjians couldn't compare. the only one that was close a paiste signature. Overall the best china I have ever used the 19 beats the 20.
