OVERVIEW

An oversized steel snare for fat, punchy tones.

This Tama S.L.P. offers a full, wet tone to power up your backbeat. On the cornerstone of a 1mm thick steel shell, this snare is fitted with hardware that can stand up to a challenge. The Steel Mighty Hoops are triple-flanged and 2.3mm thick, providing a "wetter" sound than diecast zinc and an articulate rimshot or accent, when needed.

Comments about Tama S.L.P. Big Black Steel Snare Drum:

This is the fattest, loudest rock snare drum currently on the market, and at a great price! The 8x14 steel shell really sets this drum apart from other metal shell drums out there. The 2.3 mm hoops provide awesome rim shots and cross-stick while providing the drum with just enough clarity. I've owned many steel shell snares (including the Tama SLP 5.5x15), but this one buries them all. Perfect for any loud, amplified music. A true workhorse. This is a powerhouse of a drum.

Comments about Tama S.L.P. Big Black Steel Snare Drum:

From the name big black snare, really has a big sound dude to its height. this snare would be very great i your play heavy music like rock, metal, etc, this snare has a huge tone, warm, and really has and open and overtone sound. the head that came with this is a evans G1 and hazy 300, well the snare sounded good its you want a open and more ringing live sound, if you ant a more controlled or dead sound i would recommend a evans hybrid or Evans genera dry, you would the sound of it live or in the studio.

Comments about Tama S.L.P. Big Black Steel Snare Drum:

This is a great snare drum especially for the price. It has great low tone, yet with a wide tuning range. I've been using mine just with the snare wires and heads that came with it, but soon I will get some puresound wires for it. It's pretty sensitive as well. This is the 8" deep snare I've owned and it was exactly what I was looking for. The volume and tone of this snare drum are substantial.
