A 10-ply walnut snare with dark, tonal properties.
The Tama S.L.P. G-Walnut snare drum is constructed with a 10-ply, 9mm thick 100% walnut shell, which is thicker than the standard Tama snare shell. The combination of walnut wood - known for its dark fundamental timbre and thick shell produce a deep, complex tone with exceptional attack and cut.
However, the innovations don't stop at the tone and appearance. Tama's work on identifying the ideal snare sound led them to develop the new hardware like the "Sound Arc" Hoops which add sustain, wider tuning range and a fuller frequency response. Hearty brass tube lugs will ensure a long lifespan for your tension rods, as well as your tune. And finally, the 30-strand Snappy snare wires deliver super articulate snare response and enhance the unique tonal and dynamic properties of this walnut shell.<br>

Comments about Tama SLP G-Walnut Snare:
I decided to write this review because of how amazing this g walnut drum is. I absolutely adore the Tama SLP line of snares and this one is maybe the very best yet! I have owned many many high end snares but sold most of them to acquire a bunch of the SLP snares which are incredible and worth way more than the selling prices in my opinion. I was excited to try the g walnut when it was recently released, especially considering I have been looking for wood snare that wasn't maple or birch. I bought this as soon as it was in stock and I have to say, I'm blown away. If you like that thick, fat, classic, slightly wet snare sound, then look no further. This may be hard to believe, but this is the best sounding wooden snare I have played yet and it records like a sound city record! I recorded this and my Brady jarrah block snare and chose this g walnut track on every song! Yes, it's. That good I'm my opinion. For the price you'd be foolish not to buy this when its in stock. My favorite SLP yet!
- Great Sound
- Huge Tone
