I bought a smaller Toca Synergy Freestyle djembe about a year ago and I absolutely love it. Don't let the materials fool you, this is a great sounding instrument. I would say that this drum sounds more like a cross between a djembe and a darbuka than a traditional djembe, but it really makes a rich clear unique sound. I have compared the sound of it to much more expensive wooden djembes and I am still convinced that the Freesyle's sound is superior.
