Comments about Zildjian A Series Medium-Thin Crash Cymbal:

I'll start by admitting that I'm a die-hard Sabian guy, having turned my back on Zildjian years ago, but I really like the re-engineered A's! This model, in this size, has to be one of the best all-around workhorse cymbals in history! From jazz to rock to death metal, or even as a suspended cymbal in a symphonic setting, it's incredibly versatile. If you're a gigging drummer who plays a lot of different styles, I'd highly recommend it. I think the feel of this cymbal is closer to the old block-lettered A's from the 80's and 90's than any new Zildjian I've ever played, and it has a certain "sweetness" to its sound that somehow disappeared from the A Zildjian line over the years. I'm glad it's back, though!

Comments about Zildjian A Series Medium-Thin Crash Cymbal:

The Zildjian A Series has always been at the top of the industry in quality, performance and value.
The Zildjian A Series 16 inch Medium-Thin Crash is the best all around crash you can own. I have owned a lot of them over the years. I have to single that one out as one that shouldn't let you down, as long as Zildjian never compromises it's quality. I did a review on the Paiste Signature Series Full Crash, I still think it is the best that I've heard, but if you don't have that much to spend, the 16 inch Zildjian Medium-Thin crash is the next best thing. I have both and they both sound fantastic.

Great Sound! These crashes are so versatile. They can be used for any style of music. I used them in Jr. High and High School in our Jazz Bands, and they worked great. If you want a sweet crash sound that you can use for anything, these are just for you!

                  It's a Zildjian...what can I say?

Comments about Zildjian A Series Medium-Thin Crash Cymbal:

Love the sound. Love the shine.
I love the sound of these symbols. I had one on the left and just had to get a second for the right side. They obviously don't have exactly the same pitch but they are just close enough yet just far enough different.
Been using the forst for about a year. Only cleaned it once and it stll shines like new.
Condiering the overall price of symbols, this is definitely worth it.

                  Classic Crash Sound

Comments about Zildjian A Series Medium-Thin Crash Cymbal:

Although Zildjian has, in recent decades, expanded their portfolio to include multiple lines, these A Zildjians remain their best cymbals, overall, in my opinion. The medium-thin crashes give that classic crash sound that goes with anything. I own the 16" and 18", and they simply do the job, and always sound right. Of course, there are many types of cymbals to try, but the Zildjian A medium-thin crash is a proven winner, in my book.

                  A Zildjian 16

                  By KC & the Beat

                  from Wisconsin

Comments about Zildjian A Series Medium-Thin Crash Cymbal:

Sometimes you just get lucky with a crash cymbal as far as sound & longevity is concerned with some regards, of course, on how you hit them. I owned 4 of these med-thin's during the 80's & 90's as this 16" crash was a must in my set-up. I wouldn't say they were prone to cracking as they served me well through 2 decades. However the sound quality, although always very good, wasn't consistant with each replacement. One crash stood out of the bunch & was indeed special. It instantly opened up and exploded with the bright pitch rising, & then falling again. It was the go to crash to really punctuate a fill or passage. I still consider myself a Zildjian man because of this crash and still mourn it's loss. Hope you get lucky!

this is an amazing cymbal.i got the 16 inch with a 17 in piaste alpha rock crash and a sabian b8 18 crash-ride.and it fits perfectly in the middle with the 17 in as a first and the b8 as the main crash.it has a bright somewhat washy tone to it perfect for a kinda splash effect but with more attack.its a great product and it has done wonders for my kit just being there.

Comments about Zildjian A Series Medium-Thin Crash Cymbal:

I have the Avedis 17" medium crash and it is worth the money. I got it for Christmas a while back. Many people say that they crack easily, it will not crack if you know how to play on it. You can hit fast and it will progressively become loud. If it cracked for you, you probably hit it too hard. I like anything that's metal in it, if you want to use this cymbal in a thrash metal band, you can't wail on it, it will already sound loud enough for you if you play regularly.

Comments about Zildjian A Series Medium-Thin Crash Cymbal:

And it's amazing. I use it as both a crash and a ride and it works great for both uses. As a crash, since it's a 20", it's more on the dark side but it's still plenty loud and has great sounding overtones. And when I use it as a ride it has great stick definition and a great sounding bell. I used to own the Zildjian A Series Medium Ride, but I much prefer riding on this Medium Thin Crash, it's that versatile of a cymbal. If you are looking for a versatile cymbal that you can use for multiple purposes, than get this one.

                  16 and 18

                  By Zane-Ucl2p

                  from New York

Comments about Zildjian A Series Medium-Thin Crash Cymbal:

I purchased a 16" thin and an 18" medium crash back in July of 2009 and have had very little complaints. The only problem I had was that the 16" thin crash cracked at the bell and the mid section so I sent it back to the Zildjian manufacturer claiming it was defective and they sent me a new cymbal quicker than the estimated time range. Both of the cymbals sound great together and have nice, warm overtones. The thin 16" is by far my most favorite cymbal because it has quite and explosive sound in the beginning but slowly smooths out and brings a warm sound. The bell on the 16" is quite useless for effects but I other cymbals for that. The 18" is very good for crescendos and the use of mallets. It has a nice big bell for good effects and has warm overtones. Altogether, I find both of these cymbals very great and versatile among any type of style or genre.
