Comments about Zildjian A Series Medium-Thin Crash Cymbal:

I'll start by admitting that I'm a die-hard Sabian guy, having turned my back on Zildjian years ago, but I really like the re-engineered A's! This model, in this size, has to be one of the best all-around workhorse cymbals in history! From jazz to rock to death metal, or even as a suspended cymbal in a symphonic setting, it's incredibly versatile. If you're a gigging drummer who plays a lot of different styles, I'd highly recommend it. I think the feel of this cymbal is closer to the old block-lettered A's from the 80's and 90's than any new Zildjian I've ever played, and it has a certain "sweetness" to its sound that somehow disappeared from the A Zildjian line over the years. I'm glad it's back, though!

    Classic Crash Sound

Comments about Zildjian A Series Medium-Thin Crash Cymbal:

Although Zildjian has, in recent decades, expanded their portfolio to include multiple lines, these A Zildjians remain their best cymbals, overall, in my opinion. The medium-thin crashes give that classic crash sound that goes with anything. I own the 16" and 18", and they simply do the job, and always sound right. Of course, there are many types of cymbals to try, but the Zildjian A medium-thin crash is a proven winner, in my book.

Comments about Zildjian A Series Medium-Thin Crash Cymbal:

My friends, this is my favorite cymbal that Zildjian makes. Yes, there are more expensive cymbals, but that does not matter. This cymbal simply says what needs to be said. Great crash with pretty overtones. Buy it, you will not regret it

      A Zildjian 16

Comments about Zildjian A Series Medium-Thin Crash Cymbal:

Sometimes you just get lucky with a crash cymbal as far as sound & longevity is concerned with some regards, of course, on how you hit them. I owned 4 of these med-thin's during the 80's & 90's as this 16" crash was a must in my set-up. I wouldn't say they were prone to cracking as they served me well through 2 decades. However the sound quality, although always very good, wasn't consistant with each replacement. One crash stood out of the bunch & was indeed special. It instantly opened up and exploded with the bright pitch rising, & then falling again. It was the go to crash to really punctuate a fill or passage. I still consider myself a Zildjian man because of this crash and still mourn it's loss. Hope you get lucky!

Comments about Zildjian A Series Medium-Thin Crash Cymbal:

I have the 16" and 18" crashes in brilliant finish and have had them for a little over two years. Like I say about most all A Zildjian cymbals these crashes are extremly versatile and I use them in every style I play, which is anywhere from jazz to metal. The bigger you go the warmer and just more of a "Wide open" sound. I don't think you can go wrong with these cymbals.

I own the 18" med thin and the 16" med thin. I use the 16" more but the 18" is more of an epic cymbal. They are both awesome. Kinda pricey. Yeah they are pricey but you get what you pay for.

Comments about Zildjian A Series Medium-Thin Crash Cymbal:

Ive Had the 18"er for 8to9 year and It has just rcently got a crack near the bell wich is a tragedy because the older these things get the better they sound I plan on getting another because I wouldnt trade it for anythign else. It has the best sound very tight and sustained sounding. I had the 14" but that was a weak cymbal Definetly not for hard hitters. but any Cymbal from the Avedis line will work for Any talented drummer.

Comments about Zildjian A Series Medium-Thin Crash Cymbal:

I own a 16" Medium Thin Zildjian A. No cymbal is as flexible on my kit. It can be played with most any style music; from Industrial to Worship. It is powerful, yet can still be very effective with a subtle touch. It can cut through the loudest of stage noise or be a delicate sound that comes through only on a recording. If you are looking to buy your first "real" cymbal? This is it. If you have a nice set of cymbals, yet lack that one cymbal that can be played anywhere or anytime? This is it.You can take any of my other ten cymbals, just don't touch this one.

I both the 16" and 18" in the A series cymbal pack. Both are amazing and compliment eachother well. They sound way better than the sound clips by the way. I can see now why others have said they go with any type of music because they sound good at all levels of dynamics.

Comments about Zildjian A Series Medium-Thin Crash Cymbal:

The Zildjian A Series has always been at the top of the industry in quality, performance and value.
The Zildjian A Series 16 inch Medium-Thin Crash is the best all around crash you can own. I have owned a lot of them over the years. I have to single that one out as one that shouldn't let you down, as long as Zildjian never compromises it's quality. I did a review on the Paiste Signature Series Full Crash, I still think it is the best that I've heard, but if you don't have that much to spend, the 16 inch Zildjian Medium-Thin crash is the next best thing. I have both and they both sound fantastic.

Comments about Zildjian A Series Medium-Thin Crash Cymbal:

In 30 plus years of playing I've tried different crashes and always come back to the old reliable Zildjian A's. I own 4 now, and am waiting on the 5th.They do it all: they can be fast, exlosive, slow, warm -- everything I've wanted from a crash in all musical genres from rock, jazz, country, and even symphonic (they make a great suspended cymbal).

Comments about Zildjian A Series Medium-Thin Crash Cymbal:

I own the 16 inch traditional finish about two years ago and really the title resumes what this cymbal is. Not too heavy, not too thin, you can play from rock to jazz with it and, for me, combines perfect with my 18 A medium crash and 14 A custom. And almost forgot it, very durable. Make an effort and buy a "valuable and real musical instrument". A cymbal for your drumlife. Youll really enjoy it.

Comments about Zildjian A Series Medium-Thin Crash Cymbal:

The sound samples you hear online for say, a 16" medium thin (the one I own) is way different form the real thing. The store I to actually had two of them, and they both sounded completely different. One was higher and cheesier sounding, and the other one was lower and the duration was much longer. I chose the higher one, and it's used mostly for effect and accenting when I play. Don't be fooled by sound samples; go and try it at a store.Overall, these things never break when hit properly (at a glance, not directly) and no matter what the sound out the cymbal is, it can always be used somewhere on your drum kit. All I can say is this cymbal is friken amazing! I Play in a Hard Rock band, and needed some new cymbals that really cut through the mix, this does that and then some. Its really loud and produces a very warm, almost dark explosion of sound....I use it as my left crash and it works great, match it with my New Beat Hi-Hats, Sweet Ride, and A Custom 19" Rezo and it sounds amazing!

Comments about Zildjian A Series Medium-Thin Crash Cymbal:

I am a BIG!! fan of Zildjian cymbols. i have used them ever since i started playing drum set (4 years ago) and never thought once about changing. i own the 14" fast crash 16", 17", 18" medium-thin crashes a 20" ping ride, and 13" master sound hi-hats. all the cymbols are AMAZING!! and have all lasted through many gigs and practices. my favorite is the 18" its an incredibly diverse cymbol the can be used to crash on or used to ride on. but they are all great cymbols. i am looking to purchase the 19" medium-thin crash next and i am excpecting the same quality and great sound out of it. overall amazing cymbols and dont hesitate to spend the money to buy them. there well worth the cash.
