Overall, this is THE BEST ride I've ever owned or played. Period. I enjoy the washy sound of the Sweet Ride that accompanies the stick definition. This cymbal fits in perfectly (to my ear) with Avedis Zildjian medium thin crashes and Avedis Zildjian New Beat hi hats.
Beautiful in the traditional finish, this ride is relatively thin, very responsive, and washy. There is definite stick definition far from the bell, although it blends into the wash of the cymbal. As you move closer to the bell, the definition increases and the wash decreases. The best I could describe this cymbal would be somewhat of a deep crash ride. However, I use mine strictly as a ride, not a crash ride, due to the thin-ness of it. Overall, my all-time prefered ride.
I've always been drawn to traditional-finished Avedis series cymbals due to their sound characteristics and warm appearance. Besides that, Zildjian is always at the top of the quality mark for nearly every product they put out there. This cymbals is no exception.
Great value because with proper care and play, this cymbal should last more than a lifetime.

This ride is great for crashing on and sounds great when you crash on it and the ride sound is OKAY. The bell of this ride is the absolute worst bell sound i have ever heard. so if you're like me and like to use the bell of the ride, then you should NOT buy this cymbal. what i would suggest is getting a nice pingy rid with a nice ride then get an 18" or 20" crash to ride on.

Comments about Zildjian A Series Sweet Ride Cymbal:
this is a fantastic ride. i bought one used for half the price. i use it primarily in a jazz setting, and it fits perfectly. The 21" A sweet ride has great wash and very musical overtones. I would not reccommend this to a metal player, as the stick definition isn't as great. This is the first B20 ride i've owned and I couldn't be more pleased with it. played several others, but this is top of my list.

Comments about Zildjian A Series Sweet Ride Cymbal:
Greatest dynamic from a ride cymbal I have ever known. Great ride sound, just the right amount of wash. Best crash I could hope for. Bell isn't cutting, but that's not what this cymbal is going for.
Again...best everydown ride cymbal i've ever owned. Also the best crash I've ever owned. I've had two at various times and neither has broke yet.
Paying for good cymbals sucks, but you have to do it if you want quality. If you're going to shell out factory prices for cymbals, this should be on the top of the list, maybe followed by mastersound hi-hats. Can't go wrong with this cymbal no matter what.
Comments about Zildjian A Series Sweet Ride Cymbal:
ive been playing mine for a few months, sounds way diffrent (in a good way) than the day i bought it. weak bell, great wash, amazing crash if you are lookin for that big 60's 70's sounding crash buy it. if you want a ride go K or K custom
Comments about Zildjian A Series Sweet Ride Cymbal:
I heard this cymbal online and fell in love with it. I bought one and it sounded a lot different than the one I heard. After doing some research I found that the production varies greatly from cymbal to cymbal. Make sure you try it out in person. Mine has an edge that is on the thick side and doesn't crash as well as I would like. The bell isn't as cutting as I would imagine either, but it is versatile.
Comments about Zildjian A Series Sweet Ride Cymbal:
This cymbal IS a sweet ride...I've played many different rides before buying this one and was impressed with the tonal coherence it has, not alot of obnoxious overtones-a well blended sound. It has a decent amount of wash without losing the stick ping. I really enjoy using this ride and it sounds great in just about every kind of music.
Comments about Zildjian A Series Sweet Ride Cymbal:
This sucker is amazing. It has the perfect amount of wash and a decent ping. the bell is really strong. Crashing on this cymbal sounds incredible. Back up a few feet from your set while someone else plays, and you will be even more amazed. this is simply stunning.
Comments about Zildjian A Series Sweet Ride Cymbal:
I picked up this cymbal when I was helping to clean out an old building we used as an after-school club and concert venue. It's got a chunk missing out of the edge (that's why it was left by whichever band it originally belonged to), but that definitely has not hurt the sound quality or playability. As everyone else says, this cymbal is a great combo crash/ride. It has a decent ping, but not the type that will stand out tremendously because of the wash. If you want a real pronounced ping, I would not suggest this cymbal as a primary ride. Go and pick up a Medium or Ping Ride (either A, A Custom, Z Custom, K Custom, or K). But I would still say buy this cymbal and use it in some manner. The wash makes it a very good crash cymbal, so BUY IT!!!!
Comments about Zildjian A Series Sweet Ride Cymbal:
I actually have 3 of these I use for live shows. 2 Brilliant Sweet Rides as my 2 Crash cymbals and 1 Traditional Sweet Ride as my main Ride/Crash. This will be the best cymbal you ever buy. Paiste, Meinl and Sabian don't compare to this cymbal. Accompany this cymbal with some Zildjian K's and you will have the best sounding cymbals EVER made. Zildjian has done it again.
Comments about Zildjian A Series Sweet Ride Cymbal:
I bought this cymbal about a year ago, and I have found it to be well worth the money. It has an excellent washy sound to it when you really start to drive a groove. The bell is not as loud as you'd hope it to be, however. I'd reccomend this cymbal for Rock use only. It has none of the dry, light ping you want for Jazz. Excellent for Rock and Fusion, though.
