Own the 17'' and absolutely love it. I have owned the 16'' as well and it lasted over 2 years (which is good for me) when it finally cracked I decided to go larger with the 17" and Im glad I did! It accompanies the 19" K Custom Hybrid I own so well. really i think I have found my perfect cymbal combination.

I recently bought a 15 inch one of these off of one of my band mates, and it is one of the best crashes I have ever heard.
I play a lot of death metal, punk, and other generes that require loud cutting cymbals, but I never cared for bright cymbals.
The K Custom Dark though cuts through nicely, and has the sustain and sound I've been trying to find.
It has just a little bit of trash to it, which helps it blend a little more in with my set up. (2 crashes, 2 chinas, a ride and hats)
Overall, it has a fast decay, nice rich sound, and versitility in any kind of music.
I definatly plan to purchase some new K custom darks, after I save up some more money.
Though it is a bit pricey, I find the quality of the k custom darks to be top notch, and great sounding.

You can't go wrong with this crash regardless of what type of music you play.
The K Custom Dark series have become my favorite choice for cymbals and this is the ideal crash in the series for any music style. The tone is warm and the decay is just right..fast, but not too fast. Awesome! I will be adding the 16" version of the same to my kit soon.
Sounds great and looks great!
Though this is on the pricey side, it is worth the money!

This is just a great cymbal. However, the one thing I notice (nothing bad) is that when you look at this cymbal horizontally at eye level, I notice that part of the cymbal is higher than the other..nothing affecting the sound. just an annoying visual

I have the 17" crash and wish I had never seen it. Now, I am converting all of my A Series into K Dark and Custom cymbals. No matter how hard or softly you strike this cymbal, you get an amazing sound and quick decay. I very seldom have to choke the cymbal. Usually when I use it, the other musicians turn and smile it sounds so good. Now, I have to get hats and an 18" crash, then I will be almost completely in K cymbals. If you can afford it, go with the K's, you will love them.

I have had my 18" Dark K Custom for 9 years (!!!!!!) I am by no means a soft player, although i do consistently work on technique, but what I'm trying to say is that this cymbal has taken 9 years of punishment (it's my go-to cymbal) and is still around and sounding grandiose and great. It is a cymbal that you must work at and rein in to get a good mid-range out of it, but once you learn how to play it you can use it in any musical situation. A fantastic investment in your sound. Highly recommened!

This cymbal is absolutely perfect! I was looking for a dark and warm cymbal with a quick decay and fast stick response. This cymbal was the best in every category. This cymbal works great for every style of music and anywhere you place it. I found that it works particularly well with a K Custom EFX and a 9 in K Custom Hybrid Splash along with it. It's probably my least favorite of my crashes...but I do love my others. This is my beat one or the and of one crash. You understand. It's a little dark (go figure) for my taste, but it has a great sound to it regardless. Mine is a 16". Much better when playing in a jazz situation.

These are the best cymbals in the world in my opinion. I just got two of these (at differnt sizes) and they already surpass any other cymbal i have owned. The price may be a little daunting, but if you are a big gigger, they immediately pay for themselves If you like brighter crashes, you may want to try the hybrid series, but these offer a great all-around sound. I expect these to last me many years to come.
