The 10

Comments about Zildjian K Splash Cymbal:

I have owned 3 of these over the years, all the 10" size. It is the defacto standard for a splash sound in so much modern music. It's like a Fender or a Gibson it's so widely used and for good reason, it sounds great really quick and just loud enough to speak up over the din. The first one I had developed a soft side and warped a little, but it only made it sound better. I will always have one of these little 10"'s in my setup.

exotic little splashes

Comments about Zildjian K Splash Cymbal:

A while back I ordered an 8" K splash, thinking it's dark note would help it sound a little more substantial than a typical 8". I found it has more of an oriental sound, like a mini-gong overtone. Cool sound, similar to Wuhan splashes, but with less volume...it's not a piercing cymbal, especially compared to, say, a bright A-series splash, which cuts through most music.I've played the 10" and the 12", and the 10" is a much better splash cymbal, and is a little thicker, i.e., more durable. The 12", meanwhile, almost sounds like a normal crash with a fast decay. It would act well as a tertiary crash voice, as opposed to acting like an effect cymbal. If you're looking for a supplemental crash cymbal, check out this 12". If you want a dark-sounding splash, get this 10". I wouldn't recommend the 8", unless you mic' it.

8 in--Awesome little accent!

Comments about Zildjian K Splash Cymbal:

This cymbal is really cool, i own the 8 inch and it absolutely has the best accent ever! It's very clear, and cuts through everything very well. Well worth the money. Just don't hit it too hard, this thing is especially thin! Works well with any kind of music, I use it for my rock band and Christian band at church. Overall, really awesome cymbal.

Comments about Zildjian K Splash Cymbal:

This splash cymbal rules. It is great for filling up little holes in music that are too short for a crash cymbal. You're in you're out. This is a great cymbal.

HARONIEL'S K SPLASH

By Haroniel Busto

Comments about Zildjian K Splash Cymbal:

12" K Splash sounds almost like a fast crash with short decay. Much louder than smaller K splashes. The response is not that quick compared to A Custom Splashes but it has sharper and dryer sound. It's great for short accent and very audible even on louder musical genre. Way better than 8" splash which is usually overpowered by other instruments.

The best to me

Comments about Zildjian K Splash Cymbal:

I bought my 8" K splash about 8 years ago. It has a small crack (1/4") at the flange of the bell and still sounds awesome. It is not chimey - like some other splashes - due to it's small bell, and has a very subtle trashiness that is what I find to be the most appealing part if it. I'm looking forward on getting a 10" as compliment.

Very Fragile!

Comments about Zildjian K Splash Cymbal:

I purchased this splash brand new for 90 bucks. It cracked after about a week of use! I didn't even hit it with much force and I used a cymbal sleeve and pads. At least it sounded good while it lasted.
