Comments about Zildjian Oriental Crash of Doom:

This cymbal caught my eye simply by the name "Crash of Doom". While it was a little out of my price range, I decided to save up for it due to the excellent reviews. I use this cymbal as a crash and secondary ride to go along with my zildjian ZBT rock cymbal set. I play mainly hard rock and metal such as Avenged Sevenfold mainly. This cymbal has an immediate attack and a relatively long sustain that fades out with dark under and overtones. The only downside to this monster cymbal is the thickness. To me it seems thin but the quality is good enough to where I'm not afraid to whale on it. This cymbal is a must buy for any musician with some extra cash and looking for a piece to spice up their drum set.

Comments about Zildjian Oriental Crash of Doom:

I have owned the 20" Crash Of Doom for close to four years. I use it as my main crash on my rock gig, and as a third ride on jazz gigs. It compliments any kind of cymbal, really. I use it with a 17" K Dark, and an old 18" A, along with a Paiste 505 22" ride. I blends well.

The downside of this cymbal is it is extremely thin, which is clear in any description, of course. If you plan on using it as a main crash, plan on replacing it. I cracked mine last weekend, which is why I'm currently on MF looking at crash cymbals. I have yet to find anything that compares...

Comments about Zildjian Oriental Crash of Doom:

This is by far the best sounding cymbal I've e very owned/played! It isn't as loud as I thought it may be, but the sound is incredible! It is so hard to explain how this cymbal sounds. It has the bite of a crash and the the overtones of a china! Unlike anything I've ever heard! Do yourself a favor and buy this cymbal! Also, this site has the best price out there!

Comments about Zildjian Oriental Crash of Doom:

First of all this cost more than any of my other cymbals, which are all Zildjians. I have Zildjain A's a 16" thin crash and a 14" fast crash of the seven I have. It is a great addition to the set. 4 on value because of the cost. I play everyday and this cymbal sounds great. I have spent more time with guitar over the years so, take it for what it's worth.

Comments about Zildjian Oriental Crash of Doom:

this cymbal is everything i have ever wanted in a crash. dark , trashy , beautiful. great for both low and high volume situations. expressive trashy just amazing, i have a 20" and i have nothing bad to say about it. i ride on it for a really dark airy ride, and even the bell has a nice , peircing pingggggggggg.phenomenal, buy it.

Comments about Zildjian Oriental Crash of Doom:

I saw this cymbal in a music store and I asked to see what it sounded like. After the first time I hit it i was in love. This is a great trashy cymbal for any style of music. If I had the money I would buy it.

Comments about Zildjian Oriental Crash of Doom:

I own the 20'', I use it as a crash but also as a really dark, trashy ride with tons of overtones. This thing is incredibly dark and trashy, right in between and crash and a china. super long Sustain. I definitely do love it, but it really seems more an effects cymbal than a work horse crash. that's just me, though. If you got the extra cash, then go for it.

Buying My Second Crash o' Doom

By The Stiffman

from Blacksburg, VA

Comments about Zildjian Oriental Crash of Doom:

I owned a crash of doom for 5 years when it recently got run over by a truck. I immediately got on here to find another one b/c it is such a crucial part of my set. I play hard rock/funk fussion so when I'm building up the jam by rocking out on normal crashes, nothing can top it out on "the 1" except for a nasty, long sustaining deep crash - the crash of doom. If you're not a wussy drummer, you need this cymbal.
