Honestly... This instrument is very nice for someone learning to play lap steel. Drop the conservative amount now and as time prevails upgrades can be made to make this guitar road worthy. The tuners are cheap and are not going to withstand someone who is gigging. And of course... The pickups aren't going to give you that HOT sound most desire. These are an easy fix and you will be left with a great steel that will withstand many great performances. I would highly recommend the Junior to anyone that is still developing technique and style. Hope this helps...

My new Electro Hawaiian Jr. has been incredible since receiving it not long ago.
The finish work and detailing are great. While I really love the sound of the
dobro I play, the Electro gave me a new avenue to some sounds I was searching
for in a praise and gospel setting. Also, Bill has been very helpful when I have
visited with him.

And I hope that these instruments will sell and spread out in Europe. Hard to find them here. Maybe because lap steel and country music isnt that popular here but this will change now

2012 Hawaiian Junior with stock pickups and hipshot bridge
I was suprised by the quality of the instrument. The Hawaiin junior is an import from China. But I could not see a diffrence to European or American made instruments. Have to admit that I own only guitars (Fender deluxe and Les Pauls) and the Asher lap steel is compareable if I might say that.
Had a Fender FS52 before and you cant compare these two instruments. Sound, sustain, quality,...the Asher is superior.
Tried it with two amps: through a Marshall JVM with 4x12 cab and a Fender Twin Reverb...GREAT!!!
Absolutley great value, great bargain.
For me as a beginner of lap steel guitar playing this instrument was a very good choice. This doesnt mean that it aint a good choice for professionals

This is a wonderful playable and great sounding instrument. Highest recommendation.
The 2 pickups and tone knob allow for a large array of killer sounds, the stock pickups are very nice. With the right amp you can get the Derek Trucks magic happening. Tone Monster. The intonation is great the fretboad is well defined and welll presented.
What an amazing lap steel. Import guitars have a stigma that is NOT EARNED in this particular instument. Especially after playing another brand of american made lap steel and returning it for quality issues this Asher is a GREAT well made and excellent sounding guitar.Well built solid, great sustain, beautiful finish. This guitar sings, clean or dirty you won't be disappointed.
A true deal for a guitar of this quality at this price! A guitar you could keep for life. It is a beautiful guitar people notice it and comment on it. The folks at Asher are friendly and helpful when you call them to boot!

I've been let down by other import models but the Asher has not disappointed. It seems like this Asher is at a higher level. I'm really happy, this is a keeper. I play county and blues and it's working out great.
