The Gold-Tone CC Plectrum, A great banjo, fits my needs perfectly.

Comments about Gold Tone CC Plectrum:

The Gold Tone CC-Plectrum is a well made instrument with a nice balanced sound. It is obvious that Gold Tone spent a lot of time getting the design right for this banjo. I bought it yo play in our local "philharmonic" which does a lot of songs from the early 1900's, and the sound of this instrument fits in perfectly. The maple rim of the banjo is nicely made and the hardware is far superior to that of the the cheap aluminum rimmed banjo I had before this one. The finish on the instrument is well done, though plain, with an unbound fingerboard. The dual rod assembly allows you to adjust the neck angle of the banjo, if tou prefer the strings closer to the fingerboard. I highly recommend the Gold Tone CC, and suggest you consider spending a little more money for this "proper" plectrum banjo.
The CC-plectrum has great hardware and a double neck rod system which allows you to adjust the neck angle. The desigh is great, and the brass tone ring adds brightness to the instrument.
      Well made with great hardware.
The best for the money of any plectrums I have Seen

      Perfect banjo for my needs

Comments about Gold Tone CC Plectrum:

As a guitarist, I really wanted a banjo. I don't know much about banjos, but I was interested in getting one that I could tune like the top 4 strings of a guitar and play in dixieland groups and home recording. I didn't want a 5 string because the drone would get in my way, and most 4 string banjos are Tenor Banjos (I didn't want a tenor). I'm not a bluegrass guy but I wanted to write a review for those of you that are curious about this banjo. It was one of the few instruments that I ever purchased that was playable and fun right out of the box. If I lost it I would buy another one just like it.
The features are a higher quality than what I saw in the pictures. The tuners are a closed design that say "Gold Tone" and look like Schaller's. There was a little paper note on the banjo that read, "New CC Model Notice all 2010 CC models have upgraded sealed machine heads, GT purposely does not install screw on back of tuner. This is in case user wants to upgrade to Banjo planet tuners. No screw is needed provided top nut is tight."
I actually like the tuners and I haven't decided if Im going to change them. The armrest has an engraved script design that says "Gold Tone," which wasn't in the picture. There's no Resonator Flange (doesnt' bother me). The headstock has a really pretty quilted maple veneer and snowflake inlays were done really well. Im really happy with this banjo.
The wood finish was done well and the hardware is better than I expected.
I feel like I got a lot for my money, but I was dissapointed when I saw the "Made In China" sticker on the back of the headstock. I wish it came with a case of some kind.
