I have used this harmonica as a give- away to charities. I offer 4 lessons and this cheap little harmonica at charitable silent auctions, usually taking 3 to 4 learners at a crack.
weight of the harp and the chrome is very good. Reeds won't last long, and it's not as airtight as a more expensive harp. But it is a playable harmonica.
What do you expect?? It's a good solid harmonica for the money.
      Good enough to learn on.
Cheap, but I don't think you'll find anything better in this price range.

The Chinese made Hohner Bluesband is only good for two things: to buy in bulk to give them away, or for a complete beginner who is not sure if they will stick with the harmonica and don't want to spend more cash.If you want a low priced Chinese made Hohner, I suggest you spend a couple dollars more and get the Old Standby, as it seems to be the best quality for the Chinese line, and it has a louder and fuller sound. Don't get the Chinese made Blues Bender (a different model than the Bluesband), as it is way overpriced for a Chinese made harp, and the quality is no better than the Old Standby.

for the price and a little love and adjusting reeds you will have a good entry level harp. The reeds are a bit stiff to begin with but loosen up with playing. With a little more love you will get the harp to bend for you.I had only a few harps play right out of the box.No matter how much they cost.

The sound and feel was good enough for a young person.
Basic harmonica. Good as a starter.
This was a Christmas gift for a young person.
The quality was better than we expected for the
price. Following some experience we may step
          up to the Marine Band.

Comments about Hohner Blues Band Harmonica 1501:

Bought this as a Christmas gift and when my father opened it and started to play it he realized there was a "dead spot" in it. His old one of a different brand he's had for 15 years played better. I didn't think to keep the receipt because it looked fine when it arrived in the mail. So I will now have to go and buy another harmonica -- a better harmonica for him.
