I picked up a pallet of these bad boys up because at this price these are the best musical instruments available anywhere. ever. hands down. no joke. just read the reviews. i use em (multiple ones; i can fit 9 or ten in my mouth at a time after years of practice and yoga) for my industrial/funk/folk/progressive polka band Garbanzo of the poop babies Guild and they KILL absolutely melting faces souls bodies and minds everynight on the street corner. look for me i have a 4foot goatee and pierced eyelids.

When this kazoo came in the mail, my cousin Richard (who btw is starting a local 100% kazoo orchestra to cover Beethoven compositions) immediatly noticed Hohner's once legendary kazoo manufacturing plant in China had taken extreme cost-cutting measures in making this particular kazoo. The kazoo tone was just not "kazoo" enough. We tried adjusting the action, boosting the mids, and replacing the stock fabric filter with a Seymour-Duncan UFO master kazoo paper pickup, but nothing worked. Both of our souls wept in the abscense of the beloved authentic "kazoo" tone we had heard of Texas-based kazoo masters as small children. I personally bought this kazoo to replace my beloved blue kazoo with the words "I Love Jesus" printed on it, which was gifted to me by a participant of a church group present at the Poqouson Seafood festival of 2007.Although this kazoo does not compare to my beloved lost blue Jesus kazoo, it may still be enough to fill in as a lead kazoo for our death metal band. I am going to try running it through a Mesa-Boogie triple rectifier to see if that will do the trick.

I play a lot of old school metal and hardcore and this has helped my band make it to the big time. Being from the state of Texas where many of the old time kazoo masters came from it is a pleasure for me to bring this lost art back to my millions of fans

Me and my buddies used to record techno and we came across this. Now we use this with our techno and it sounds insane. Crazy solos are the best with these kazoos. Also fun drunk party games if you pick a song, play it, and others have to guess

Hohner should be applauded for putting out this durable kazoo with great intonation. I had to sand off a bit of extra material, but other than that, a wonderful instrument.

At this price, you pretty much can't go wrong. It's a kazoo, and sounds like one. I bought one just for fun. I don't like not being able to choose the color, but whatever, it's a kazoo. It doesn't get enough of the kazoo voice, and to much of the voice sound, but once again, whatever - it's a kazoo for cheap.

I personally would be willing to pay 20% more to have my choice of color. This sleek looking unit is clearly available in a plethora of colors, but consumer gets no choice!? I'd look pretty stupid on stage in my purple leather skintight jumpsuit and an ORANGE kazoo. I mean, come on--give me a break. This might fly in a novelty catalog, but in Musician's Friend??Another review indicates that this comes w/ Remo membrane, but I think that contract expired in early '05. I believe this now ships with an inferior generic membrane. I'm sure it would be worth dropping in an upgrade, if you are proficient in mechanical minutia and willing to invest.Does anyone know if this is the model that Zappa used?

I got this, and my band (who like really sucked) made it to the big time and now we are a really sweet local band who plays at like barmitzfa's and stuff like that. You can't beat this ultimate low price, so get this kazoo all up in yo heezy fo sheezy!

This kazoo totally rocks! It has great tone and a sweet bright distortion with continental sustain. The Remo head on it really adds a thick beautiful tone. I just finished playing at the Kazooapolooza fest with my death metal/reggae/nature sounds kazoo band and it totally blew the crowd away! A must buy for all metal masters! -GARY
