Overall, it is an exceptional instrument. I would buy another anyday and it is worth every penny of it, and I would certainly pay more for it.
The tuners are fantastic, the nut is great. Its perfect. The reason I give it a nine is because the knot on the first string was too small but that is easy to fix.
It is an exceptional instrument quality wise.
The value is just incredible!

I picked this uke up at Guitar Center and fell in love with it at first. Other than some finish issues, this uke was ready to play right out of the box. However, roughly a month after purchasing it, the bridge popped off out of nowhere. I've sanded, glued and clamped the bridge back on several times, but the wood is just too weak to hold it. So, while this uke is seemingly a good value, avoid it and invest in something more reliable like a Lanikai.

Comments about Mitchell MU70 12-Fret Concert Ukulele:
We are very pleased with the overall quality of this ukulele, especially considering the price we paid. We will return to Musician's Friend if we ever need to purchase another musical instument.
Comments about Mitchell MU70 12-Fret Concert Ukulele:
Excellent with the nyglut strings it comes with. Not like usual stock strings. I suggest making sure to knot the strings a little more because my strings popped several times before noticing the problem. The design great and sound is excellent. Don't expect it to be loud but it still brings pleasure.
Not as loud as expected but still satisfies and the abalone inlay makes it a beautiful instrument
The quality at this price definitely makes it worth it. The sound gives off a tropical sound and can exceed the sound quality of many other ukes that go above its price.

AWESOME INSTRUMENT! Plays beautifully has pretty good tuner pegs and is nicely designed.
This was a great first ukulele for me! It had a good quality and it allowed me a great place to start in playing the ukulele. I think that this ukulele is really a bang for your buck! This is probably THE BEST at the least, ukulele that you can get for the price. It has a beautiful smooth gloss and has a beautiful work of wood!
The only thing that I did not like about this ukulele is that when I first got it and I began to tune it the A string(first string, or bottom string) popped of. The reason was because the manufactures did not tie the knot that kept the string in, big enough. Thus, the knot slipped right through the slot and I had to tie a bigger know and re-string the A string. Otherwise, great quality!
Like I said earlier this uke is a bang for your buck. This is probably the best you are going to get for this price.

This was a Christmas present for my son (music major). He plays a number of instruments but has not put this one down since he got it on Christmas. It has a great sound and has been perfect for a first ukulele.

I got this uke for my trip to Hawaii. I got this when it was only $100 and it was totally worth every cent, I don't know if it's worth 200, but it has a great tone and the only issue i've had with it is the tuners are a little funky, but that may just be mine. I LOVE this uke and it's great for beginners and pros alike.

I bought one of these at the President's Day sale when they were severely discounted to the point that I just couldn't say no (that is to say I didn't pay anywhere near $99 for it). I've been very pleased with it thus far. I've played other people's ukes before of more recognizable names and this one so far doesn't disappoint me. It seems solidly built, looks great, and the couple of recordings I've used it on it sounds great. If you're a ukelele player, you'll probably want to spend more on something else, but as a multi-instrumentalist (I play all the instruments on my own albums, lead guitar for others) it is a great-sounding little uke to have around in the studio. I did purchase a higher-quality set of strings with it to switch when the originals run out, but the originals aren't as awful as other reviewers have said. They're not great, but they're not awful. And most of the tuning issues have to do with the strings and not the tuners in my experience. Overall, great quality for the price.
Comments about Mitchell MU70 12-Fret Concert Ukulele:
I've had this uke for close to 2 years now and my opinion is for the money this is a great starter to get you hooked on the uke. The tuning machine on my C string is a little loose however it still maintains it's tune rather well. If you use some quality strings such as Martin or Aquila it will sound great. The only downside is that in a crowded room even in front of a good mic/PA system it will get drown out. I've played this thing nearly every day in the last couple of years and been out playing open mic nights/shows and other musicians love the thing. Mine has proven quite durable and performs just as well as it did out of the box but sounding better because of the Martin strings.I know reviews before mine have stated about falling apart after a little while but I can say that's not the case and for newbie players I feel that this should be your starting model. Once you get into this one then shoot for a uke from one of the more reputable uke or guitar makers out there that do cost some prettier pennies.
