I remember buying new 10 hole Marine Band harps for under 5 bucks when I first started messing around with harmonicas so you know that I've been at it awhile.. In the early 90s I was blown away by Lee Oscar products and that is what I have the largest assortment of and have played the most in front of an audience..I love the way they play but find them to be a little bit too bright for a lot of the bluesier stuff I like to play so I still would get out one of my old hohner harps at times..I read a lot of reviews by harp players that had been using the new Suzuki products and even watched a lot of YouTube videos before committing to order a set of 6 Blues Master Harps from Musicians friend. Except for some of my harps in special tunings these are the only ones I pick up anymore.. They play great right out of the box but some needed some very light tweaks to be able to pull off great over blows like I have never been able to get out of any other harps I had gone nearly crazy trying to do the same to with only hit and miss results... I'll definitely be purchasing more in the future and can't wait for some in low tunings.

Comments about Suzuki BLUESMASTER HARMONICA:
At first I was disappointed. I compared it to a Special 20 and it wasn't as loud or full sounding. However they were in different keys. I bought a Special 20 in the same key and they played identical. Bending notes was easy on both. I think they are a good deal for the money.

Comments about Suzuki BLUESMASTER HARMONICA:
I bought two of these over a year ago. A and Bflat. I really like them....when I play them they do what I want them to do ! I bought my first harp ,a marine band in 1968...I don't take 'em apart and tweak them....I take 'em out of the box and play 'em !!! The bluesmaster plays great and seem to hold up well. I have about 30 harps of different brands and models and the bluesmaster is one of the best !!!

I give this harp 4 out of 10 rating. Its much harder to blow than my favorite (Hering Harps). I was quite disappionted! From what I here...they quit making hering harps...so now to find a quality harp that has good reeds that don't blow out all the time like Lee Oscars. It's not this one!
Comments about Suzuki BLUESMASTER HARMONICA:
Overall I rank this harp as an '8'. The playablity is great. I feel that I get slightly "less" volume with this harmonica, but that's not a big deal. You can always mic up, tell people to stand a little closer, or just wail like you're never going to get a second chance. Overall.... 8 - 10
Have I mentioned that I really don't like the box?
Smooth edges make it comfortable to play. I've got several Honner, and Lee Oskar harps and this one "feels" the best out of all of them.
The box offers no protection... I hate the box
The box....... The box for this harp is TERRIBLE there is nothing to protect your harmonica. The box has no padding or anything. I've got some $20 honners that have exellent padding.
Come on... Step it up Suzuki
The harp however performs very well. Easiest harp ever to bend, and the reeds are gapped really well on mine (I've not heard the same from everyone else). Even my high end (8,9,10) plays really well.
This is a great harp, but I'm looking at the whole package. They need to meet all of my high expectations to get a perfect 10.
Make a better box for this harmonica!!!
Comments about Suzuki BLUESMASTER HARMONICA:
Good respose; volume lower than Hohner Golden melody and Special 2
Bent reeds go flat faster than Hohner Golden Melody
Comments about Suzuki BLUESMASTER HARMONICA:
I hear from a lot of harp players that like the Hohner Special 20, I don't. Falls somewhat flat, does not project when I wail on it, the Suzuki Bluesmaster in my humble opinion is much better than the Special 20, but is missing the "richness" of the Golden Melody or the "projection" of the Bluesharp.
I like the small compact size/feel and sharp notes. Like the other reviews I found it easy to bend however that has never been a problem as my favorite harp is Hohner's Blues Harp with a wooden comb, harder to bend but takes a beating and I can wail the notes. With the Suzuki Bluesmaster I can wail the notes too, however it's "tinny" almost too sharp even in the lower scale, doesn't have that rich, deep, vibrato sound I'm use to with the Bluesharp. Haven't beat up on it enough to comment on it's durability.
Comments about Suzuki BLUESMASTER HARMONICA:
I was so looking forward to my new Suzuki Bluesmaster. Boy, was I disappointed. I couldn't even get a sound out of two of the holes. I ended up taking it a part and re-gapping the holes. I still have a lot of work left to do before I get a decent harp out of this piece of junk. No more Suzuki's for me I'll stick with Special 20's and Lee Oskars.
