Comments about Suzuki Folkmaster Harmonica:
I've recorded 4 CDs with Lee Oskars and Hohners. I now play Suzuki Hammond Harps...the most responsive harmonicas imaginable. The Suzuki Folkmaster is very responsive and easy to play. It's the best harmonica for the money on the market.
Comments about Suzuki Folkmaster Harmonica:
I didn't expect a pro level harp for $16, but wanted to try a cheaper Suzuki before I spent big money on one. I know some pros that have very expensive Suzukis they like, but the Folkmaster is in a class with the cheapest Bluesbands & Jambones. Not much volume, needs a lot of air for some notes, less for others. My experience with this overpriced, typical cheap Chinese harp will keep me from spending any more on a Suzuki. If you wand a good harp go with S-20s, MBs, Lee Oscars or Herring Blues or Master Blues. For a cheap throw-away - Jambone or BluseBand.
Comments about Suzuki Folkmaster Harmonica:
This was the first harp I bought to step up from the cheapos that i started on. Initially i was very impressed with the sound and playability. It was fairly easy to do what i wanted to do. The plates stick out slightly, which makes extended play (1 1/2- 2hrs) a tad uncomfortable. Especially if you havent trimmed your mustache. i thought id reached a found an acceptable compromise between budget and sound, but after a month of playing maybe 3hrs max a week, the reed was too out of tune to use. id suggest this as maybe a backup,or for a rare key.
Comments about Suzuki Folkmaster Harmonica:
Love it, would buy it again for sure
This is my everyday harmonica, is not too loud so i don't bother other people, i like the narrow holes, the sound, very lightweight and bending it's easy, good price, good harmonica.
Cover plates are a little weak but the protective case is really nice.
Great Value
Comments about Suzuki Folkmaster Harmonica:
I recieved the order promptly thank you. Opened the first one of four and was saddened at the first glance, playability was worse. I've played $3.00 Jambones and they're better harps for an eighth of the price. Suzuki FOLKMASTER is not any value at all. I'm sad and expected much more from this company.
Comments about Suzuki Folkmaster Harmonica:
I bought a pair of these harmonicas in A and C, which are keys I don't use very often. Subsequently, I didn't want to spend a bunch of money on the harps. But I sincerely wish that I'd spent a couple of dollars extra and gotten Hohner Blues Benders instead. The Folkmasters don't feel as substantive as the Blues Benders and they don't sound as full either. Not bad for the money, but for a couple of bucks extra, the Hohner harps are better hands-down. The Folkmasters feel cheap . . . almost like a toy.
