Comments about Suzuki M20 Manji 10-Hole Harmonica:
not as easy for me to overblow as my seydels I was expecting it to be easier out of the box. based on what other reviews have said. it looks gorgeous it plays very consistent but A seydel blues session is still easier FOR ME to overblow out of the box. your results may vary.

i love suzuki harps. i own many suzuki harps in multiple keys! i own the firebreath! Fantastic instrument! i own the pro -master in valved and un valved! truly one of the greatest harmonicas i have ever played.....with or without valves!!!!!! i have recently acquired the "overdrive" that i truly believe to be one of the most innovative mouth organs on the planet! i must still continue my education on this instrument, as it is amazingly speciallized and requires a learning curve that i am JUST starting to feel!
i also love Hohner harmonicas, and at age 58 i have been playing them since i was 9 years of age. i obviously own many models , types and all in many keys. when the marine band crossover was introduced i was very excited. i immediately orderred 2 keys and waited with baited breath. to my complete joy they are the loudest raspiest most comfortable easiest to play blues jazz classical country and pop musical instruments in the world!!! i couldn't be happier! then the thunderbird was introduced! octave lower special conical covers etc! MEH! money wasted in my opinion. my steve baker special gives me the low octave and as an all around players harmonica....sweet!
anyway ...i orderred the manji in D. (thought the high pitched bendind would be easier. i am now going to order a lower key because i find the fiit and finish to be fantastic....but it's not an easy air tight harp with spectacular bends that i expected. believe me i have seen all of suzukis GREAT playing sponsers ripping them up....and at 58 playing for almost 50 years ....i'm pretty good!

Harmonica teacher endorses these, and I bought several on his advice. These are extremely smooth harmonicas. They give you back more than you put in, that is, they are highly responsive to your breath. I do agree that the tone can be "tinsely." I hope I spelled that word right, meaning that it can sound like tinsel.
But I view the Manji as superior to anything other brands put out. I have other brands as "beater harps" for practice and jams, but if I am going to play for others, I want the Manji. It sounds a lot like the Golden Melody, but it's smoother. A manji is very smooth on your lips, unlike some of the others out there. Get a few Manjis, even at the high price, they are worth it. My only concern is how long the reeds will last. I'm hoping that the Manjis will prove more durable then some otheres that i have tried.
Comments about Suzuki M20 Manji 10-Hole Harmonica:
I have a few of these and they've all been in-tune and properly gapped out of the box. These harps are loud and responsive with a tone sort of like the Delta Frost, but less crackly. Bends fairly well. They're well built and have rounded corners and beveled tone holes. Watch the cover plates. They haven't cut me but it's pretty easy to bend them.Overall, a cool looking and well playing harp. The Hering 1923 is probably better for the bluesmen (if you can stand the brass taste), but the '23 doesn't come in Low F or High G, and it's not as loud or bright as the Manji.
