For this price, you get a great little whistle, a weee bit touchy on the high octave, pretty good sound, and pretty well in tune. I got 2 as sometimes I play around and play 2 at once on the three top holes.
A great, no, fantastic value for the money, for you for a friends, your kids, no excuse to not get a couple at this price! Just add them to your order, you will not regret it.
Just go see Andrea Corr play the whistle and you will see what such a simple little instrument can produce.
It is a treat! no?
Easy to play, just blow harder to get the next octave, and have a blast!
That lilltle whistle puts out some volume, you will be surprised!

I can't imagine paying the MSRP is on this guy. I think it's worth about the price listed. It sounds good when I can get it to make the right note, but it's incredibly pitchy and squeaks a lot, especially when you play in the higher octave. All in all, it's good for the price, but you don't really get more than what you pay for.

Arrived in good time, well packaged, great value for money. Using this to record is a pleasure. Sweet tone, nice and light, sounds fantastic on recordings. A little fragile and could be easily dented but overall a fantastic product..

For the price, one cannot go wrong. My only gripes are two: it gets squeaky (like any cheap whistle) and the aluminum walls are thin, so you have to be careful with it. Otherwise, it's a great whistle for the dough.

Very simple and fun instrument. The tone is indeed effortless; I've attached my whistles together to make a drone flute, and I hardly notice the difference in air pressure. They are also all perfectly in tune with each other. Great buy.

I own several whistles and was looking for something different when I came across this aluminum bodied Walton. I ordered it and loved it right off. It's light weight, has a bright sound and mine was in tune. I use it to play at church a lot and the people seem to like the sound of this one best. As a matter of fact, based on this whistle, I have been asked to teach a whistle class at church so I may be ordering a bunch of them. I would reccomend this whistle to any beginner or long time player. A great sound for a great price ....
Comments about Waltons Little Black Tin Whistle in D:
The tin whistle is made of really really really thin Aluminum and is quite delicate. The one I received had a notch/dent in one of the holes, and the paint is not great. However, despite all of these things, the sound is pretty good and it's very playable. It isn't an Oak or a Clarke whistle, but for the $3 price tag and free shipping, it's pretty darn worth it in my opinion. Great for kids but it would do if your on a tighter budget as an adult as well. Again, it ships for free... so just get it if you've got an interest!
Comments about Waltons Little Black Tin Whistle in D:
If you can play flute, you can play this. I got it because I was on an Irish kick (which I've been on for years ;D), and thought it would be fairly easy to play once I had a fingering chart handy. No fingering chart necessary if you want to keep playing in D. Playing in G requires just one other note, so G or D are really easy with this whistle. Effortless tone production, nice and sweet. But it doesn't play very well in tune. That's my only disappointment. I do admit that the sprayed-on black finish is also in the inside of the whistle, but nobody's going to see that.Highly recommended buy, but be warned: they go on backorder really quickly and it took me a month to get mine. Well worth the wait.

This is one AMAZING whistle! It sounds beautiful and comes at an unbeatable price. Not only does it sound great, but the black gives it an authentic whistle look. No matter what your age or musical level is - beginner, intermediate, advanced, teacher - you will not find a more satisfying instrument. Thanks.
